Who the fuck is Andy Bell?
He was a world-class guitarist in a world-famous shoe-gazing band. He then became a competent bass guitarist who arguably took the band to a new level, sonically.
Born in God's own country.
Posh boy.
Wrote Turn up the Sun (arguably the best song on DBTT).
Wrote The Nature of Reality (Arguably the shittest song of all time).
Is Andy Bell a twat? Or are you wrong?

I think Andy is a versatile musician, but wasn't a good fit for Oasis personality-wise. He seemed to stick out; even Gem came across as more like the Gallaghers than him. IMO, he fits much better in Ride.
At times in interviews, I also got the impression that he overrated himself as a songwriter. I know some fans think otherwise, but the only Oasis song of his i rated was Turn Up The Sun. Although I did rate some of his Beady Eye songs like Four Letter Word higher.
Sometimes he and Gem seemed to wrongly consider themselves as important as Noel and Liam. However, I dont hate him for that, as I'm sure it was encouraged by Noel (after all, he loves DBTT because it's more of a group album).
So in the end im neutral. Not a hero, but not a twat either.

TUTS is great. Everything else is terrible. TNOR is unforgivable. Not even a joke.

Unless someone can enlighten me from what I've seen and heard Andy seems totally fine. I can think of a fair few examples from the 90s of Bonehead acting like a twat yet he was voted not a twat 35-1 whilst Andy has already received 7 times the twat votes. Seems stupid.

I will tell you a story about Andy Bell. On 2013 i won a Beady Eye competition. Living in Venezuela, they sent me a BE signed vinyl which never arrived. I put a post on IG about it on 2015 (after the Beady Eye breakup), and none other than Andy Bell saw it and then sent me a signed DGSS vinyl to Colombia (where i live now). So... He didn't had to read my IG post He didn't had to care about my IG post He didn't had to respond to my IG post He didn't had to sent me anything as it was not his fault Yet, he did. And i have my Andy Bell DGSS signed vinyl. So, definitely HE IS NOT A TWAT (and i love him  ) |
