The first of the non-OGs.
Seems a good bloke and was active on this forum, once upon a time.
Some think he was the best drummer they had. Some think he was a southern bellend session drummer who didn't belong.
Alan White: Twat? or Not a Twat?

It’s known he was a particularly good friend of Liam while in the band. Always seemed a good spirited chap in interviews, despite his roots clashing with those of Oasis.
I personally feel on recordings, he was their best drummer, adding new dimensions to their sound on Morning Glory.
Then there’s his exit. His brother Steve claimed he was fired, and recently Liam has also said Noel fired him. I don’t know, but if that was the case it would piss anyone off, as it wasn’t like he lacked ability. And yet he’s pretty much kept his trap shut, and not bad mouthed Liam and Noel through the media.
So Not A Twat for me.

I think this may be the first (and only) poll that ends with a 100% landslide.

Top lad, and the best drummer Oasis ever had, or at least one with an inimitable style. Shame his career was cut short with - depending on who you ask - problems in his private life (Noel's claim), Noel gradually replacing him with drum machines (Alan's claim) and him getting fed up with being in Oasis (Steve's claim). Not a twat. P.S. My 400th post on L4E

Top drummer. I think there’s a reasonable case to be made that ‘95-‘03 is a distinct ‘era’ of Oasis rather than the break being with Bonehead/Guigs leaving. From ‘04-, they really were a different band.
