Owen's move to Real has to go down as the dumbest in history. Misses out on a champions league winners medal to sit on Real's bench for a year, only to come back a year later to scrap for a UEFA Cup spot at best.

Sure, he will get first team football, but why lower himself to their level? I think it's a shame that one of the formerly brightest prospects in the English game has been reduced to this - forced to go to a subpar side cos no one else wants him. Souness is a twat and will, if there's any justice, get the sack soon. And anyone expecting Owen to turn that side around single-handedly is in for some BIG disappointment. |

I don't like them but I wouldn't call them shit, they've just needed goals for a while now and shearer couldn't do it all I just think Owen'll do well there And I'm pretty sure the scousers wanted him but couldn't afford him, so I don't think its because teams didn't want him, I think its because teams couldn't afford him No one single handedly turns a team around but Owen probably means at least 15 goals for toon which is where they've had trouble so far toon 0-2 united toon 0-2 bolton toon 0-0 west ham toon 0-2 ARSENAL so you can't say that goals from a striker that will no doubt bring them in won't help |
