On Thursday night, Armstrong elaborated on that distrust on CNN's Larry King Live.
"A guy in a Parisian laboratory opens up your sample, you know, Jean Francois so-and-so, and he tests it -- nobody's there to observe, no protocol was followed -- and then you get a call from a newspaper that says 'We found you to be positive six times for EPO.' Well, since when did newspapers start governing sports?"
Although frustrated by the report and the difficulty of proving his case, Armstrong told King he is at ease.
"All I can do is come on this stage and tell my story and be honest. I've always done that," he said. "Since this stuff's rolled out, I sleep great at night .... I don't have a problem looking at myself in the mirror."
Armstrong questions the handling of samples frozen six years ago. He also wonders how he is to defend himself when the only confirming evidence -- the 'A' sample used for the 1999 tests -- no longer exists. He also charged officials at the suburban Paris lab with violating WADA code for failing to safeguard the anonymity of any remaining 'B' samples.
Pound said the French report appears stronger than previous accusations against Armstrong.
"If he had one, you could say it was an aberration," Pound said. "When you get up to six, there's got to be some explanation."
Pound said the lab is accredited by the International Olympic Committee. He also questioned the need for two samples to confirm a positive test.
"You can count on the fingers of one hand the times a B sample has not confirmed the result of the A sample," Pound said. "It's almost always a delaying tactic."
Armstrong said that contradicts WADA's own policy.
"For the head of the agency to say he actually doesn't believe in the code ... if your career is riding on the line, wouldn't you want a B sample?" Armstrong told the AP. "The French have been after (me) forever, and 'Whoops!' there's no B sample? The stakes are too high."

And now Lance is denying it..... same as 99.9% of cheaters, ergo he's a cheat! Faultless logic!!

to be honest, if lance was using, he wouldnt have stayed on and won it 7 times, because it would cause attention, he would have stopped after about 3, the fact he stayed on or and won 7 makes me think maybe the guy is just an incredable athelte, like he coulda just pulled a "radcliff" and pulled out. like she did of the atheltic champion ships, but then strangly be fine a week later to run the great north run and win

i don't begrudge lance his victories even tho i firmly believe he has taken shit
all cyclists are doped up, its one of the most, if not the most, filthy sports there is
according to the claim from L'Equipe, the reason for Lance not being caught sooner is that the tests in years gone by haven't been advanced enough to detect EPO, but they are now, and thats why his original sample showed nothing
this is what typically happens in the world of drug testing, the testers usually can only react when they get wind of a new drug being used by the athletes and it takes a while (even years) to develop the tests sufficiently to be able to claim with confidence
if the labs are even 1% uncertain of a result, they can't, and won't, accuse (this is due to "covering their ass" with respect to any subsequent legal procedures that may ensue).... from having worked in the industry, whenever accusations do come out, they are always because the person was doped up... & if the person ever gets off, its only on a technicality

It'd make it fair by putting everyone on steroids. Those guys know how to pass/falsify drug tests. The average person knows how to.
