Don’t bother checking out Kneecap. They’re crap and full of sectarian shite. I really like their album producer, Toddla T, but yeah, I must be getting old because the band name and balaclava image are quite off putting. That and they remind me of The Goldie Lookin’ Chain 😅 They’re absolutely playing up to sectarian bullshit which is starting to rear its ugly head again in Ireland. Young lads who didn’t live through the troubles who think shouting “Up the Ra!” is cool. Every bit as bad as the idiots that build giant bonfires and set them on fire in the middle of a housing estate. |

Played opening night of DBBT tour No footage what so ever of the nigjt - someone said they saw Lyla on YouTube. But maybe you can find it ? I can’t Rumours are he gave up halfway through the song Noel as you’ve probably heard on the podcast said I don’t recall playing the song that night But set list fm says it’s there There was a review by the NME And they didn’t mention Liam was particularly bad that night But then again - coming off glasto 2004 Maybe Liam sounded better overall that night For Instance may 12th? Alacaraz he sounds fine for the most part Thats from Buenos Aires 10th March 2006. Not the Astoria gig. |

I'm not a subscriber of the podcast but have heard snippets from mate who is. Noel is closing the studio down until Jan, which is a bit of a worry. He seems to be having a bit of a hard time of late from what he's said and can't get on with making albums so instead of forcing the process he's said he's going to wait for the songs to come to him, whatever that means. Hope this isn't a bad sign.

I used to work to live, you know, and now I’m - I was in the studio every day and I’m not putting a record out next year and probably not one the year after that and I’ve still got a few gigs to wrap up. And I was thinking what am I fucking doing, being at the studio every day from midday for 6 hours and I’ve no fucking reason to be here. You know, I’m not doing anything…there’s no…so…I’ve kind of paid everybody off for six months and just said you know what, let’s rendezvous back here in January and actually I’ve been having a great time ever since." And later on he says this about Council Skies: “After living with that album now for a year I think it’s as close to perfect as I could ever get a record…I fucking love that album and actually it was one of the reasons why I thought why am I trying to follow this up now. There isn’t a fucking note out of place and I’ve got nothing left to say. I’ve said all I’ve got to say for now in that record and it’s my favourite album I’ve ever done." And then in the same podcast he says he's gonna let the songs come to him. So yeah, not sure what to make of it, but not filled with confidence. What does everyone else think? |

He's recently gone through a divorce, has tons of cash and was pushing himself to do something he doesn't have to do. It's probably a good call, as you can't force the songs. I don't understand how he came out of lockdown with "30-40 songs" and now this. I'm generally not fan of Oasis reunion chatter, but I think it would boost Noel's spirit to go on huge WTSMG anniversary tour -- get back some of that mojo.

Looks like he’s repeating the same lessons from 1998-2005 when he kept going to Wheeler End, making demos that sounded almost complete and then struggling mightily to re-record them and then getting frustrated by the results and eventually ending his lease on the studio. |

It seems crazy to shut the doors for an extended period of time. Why spend all that money making it in the first place?!

I get what he's saying about struggling to follow up something that he feels is his best work. Even if he does have a lot of good songs ready to go if they don't live up to the quality he perceives Council Skies to be that must be frustrating because in this stage of his career he doesn't feel like he needs to phone it in or put something out for the sake of it.
But while Council Skies was generally well received you'd struggle to find fans who genuinely believe that it's his best work even as a solo artist. So you'll have a lot of fans hearing that and not understanding why he feels the way he does right now and could conceivably see themselves enjoying whatever he was going to put out next more than they did Council Skies. For example I've never got the sense from Noel that he ever felt that passionately about Chasing yesterday but fans generally loved it and from that perspective as a fan you'd be thinking you'd just want him to carry on releasing music even if he doesn't feel it lives up to his previous work because we might enjoy it more than he does. But I do get what he's saying from his point of view.

I get the divorce has hit him hard and he still needs time to get over it but I just get alarm bells ringing the way he was saying he's got nothing left to say and how Council Skies is the pinnacle of his career to date. It's a good album, but it's not that good. He said he prefers it over Oasis albums! And for once I don't think he was just doing his usual bigging up of the latest. I think he means it, like he's obviously got this massive emotional connection to it (break up album, songs about his ex wife etc) that it's like he's having a hard time letting go of that album. I'm worried he'll never get over it enough to make more music. |

Noel forget about new songs. Line up some massive Oasis reunion gigs for 2025 and fill the (overflowing) coffers/ego.
Don't worry about any new Oasis material, just have a blast doing some huge gigs... and then reflect and see what's next.

She gave him his two boys and they were together from SOTSOG - the Eps. A very long stretch of time. It sounds like it was just Lockdown and Noel still wanting to go out and get pissed that ruined things. I can't see it being him who ended things. |

But I'm afraid he'll avoid any comparison to whatever liam's doing and Liam's been smashing with the DM anniversary tour, I bet he'll do the same for MG, perhaps even bigger. But an anniversary acoustic tour with an orchestra would be perfect for Noel |

Tbf based on some speculation at the time it was very much the opposite of that. Relationships end all the time and usually it's very much down to both people in it. |
