Interesting ranking! And I learned my lesson, no more comments under Guardian Oasis articles. I just wonder why they came out with that now.

To save everyone time it's a Top 30 list with 'Those Swollen Hand Blues' making the cut and 'Some Might Say' not.
Yeah...

No-one at The Guardian, buying The Guardian, or associated with The Guardian properly "gets" Oasis. Whenever they talk about them it has the same atmosphere as when a politician pretends to support a football team.

This stark realisation automatically makes this the worst 'best of' list I have ever seen. To think that songs like Lyla make the list but Listen Up or Bring It On Down don't is a travesty in itself, but Those Swollen Hand Blues over Some Might Say?

Whenever they talk about them it has the same atmosphere as when a politician pretends to support a football team. I always get the sense that most music critics just wish Oasis would go away and be forgotten. And I also get the sense Blur or Suede was their band - bands more up their street and more like them with their educated privileged backgrounds and that these were the bands that proved their genius and their convictions about their own intelligence. I recall when Blur reunited in 2009, the music critics were quick to say 'of course they were always way better than Oasis' (Pete Paphides blowhard piece on them for example). Blur have disappeared once again without anyone really caring. But Oasis just don't go away - they subvert all notions that good music has to be in any way intellectual and it punctures their pseudo-philosophical posturings. Just to prove their maintaining popularity and cultural significance, I switch on Netflix and see Supersonic emblazoned across the home screen - seems like a semblance of common sense in humanity dictates what is great and what is timeless. And thank god for that, while music critics begrudgingly and unenthusiastically scramble around trying to find something good to say about them.

'DYKWIM?', 'TIOBI', 'Cast No Shadow', 'GLIO', 'Falling Down'... It goes on! Maybe the guy being deliberately shit to get people talking about it? Hmm...

Also, Acqueisce was never, and will never, be better than Some Might Say.
Some Might Say is the quintessential Oasis song - everything great about the band is distilled into that one song.

What a bizarre list.
And the comments really infuriate me on The Guardian Oasis articles lol.

Loving how Supersonic is right at the top when I open Netflix too. ❤

To save everyone time it's a Top 30 list with 'Those Swollen Hand Blues' making the cut and 'Some Might Say' not. Yeah... Obviously we'll each have a different song selection but I thought it was a well written list by somebody who actually likes Oasis. Why all the hate? And I like Swollen Hand Blues too.

Actually I think 'Those Swollen Hand Blues' is an underappreciated great little song and I am happy it gets some love (even if it's obviously not even close to be one of the 30 best Oasis songs) Also surprised that Petridis (who usually makes the big reviews in The Guardian) seems to know Oasis back catalog with certain depth

Even in his descriptions, he's still quite negative throughout I thought.

I thought the commentary was pretty negative too. When it's not, it's not really saying anything. They're just taking advantage of the current reunion speculation and that everyone has an opinion on them.

Even in his descriptions, he's still quite negative throughout I thought. Yeah every description starts 'This is why Oasis are shit, but this song however...'. I mean he must be an Oasis fan to even know about some of these tracks and listen to them enough to make a judgment but paid to denigrate them a bit at the same time to fit the Guardian.
