I’m not normally “that guy” but I think I prefer the demo. Just glad he finally released it though! I do like the keys.

This tune cries for Liam’s snarly voice.

Think the drop in tempo has killed it.
Happy it finally saw the light of day, just a touch disappointed how it turned out.
Ain't that the hallmark of a Noel demo to finished product?

The new version is as boring as the demo.

Seems like it's slower than the demo, I haven't listened to that for a while though so will have to compare it. I think the live version would be the one that makes my mind up on it.

I actually like the tempo (I thought the demo was way too fast. There should be a slow groove). I think it's fine in that regard. What makes it drag isn't the tempo, it's Noel's vocal.
This does in fact scream Liam. That's really about it.
In any case, Come On Outside was always an average track that got overhyped by Noel and the fanbase.

I don't like it, it's quite boring and repetitive. This song needs heavy guitars and a good solo, it doesn't suit his vocals at all. Nice drums and bass. I mean the demo is excatly the same. I understand the solo thing but the demo never had one. This isn't a new song. It's 13 years old and at least nine years old in terms of that demo we have heard.

Did Noel ever even speak about it before now? The only reference I've ever seen from any band member about it was Andy Bell saying it had been left off DOYS and showed how many good songs they had to choose from or whatever. Not saying you're wrong, I've just never seen Noel reference its existence before this cycle is all. And yes, it is what it is, a decent track. It needs to be big and does cry out for Liam's vocals but i'm glad it's out there and not just been left as a demo.

Around the holidays in 2008 Noel mentioned several times that DOYS was going to look much different. He said two tracks were left off (Come On, Its Alright and Record Machine) because Liam left LA abruptly to get married and they ran out of time to record the vocals (high bullshit alert). Noel said High Horse and Muffins replaced them. He also said that before he wrote TSOTL, Come On, Its Alright was going to be the lead single off DOYS. Fascinating stuff.

This is cool but there is no way this is a fresh recording.
The Sardy credit and the reused elements (the vocals are definitely from the demo, right?) and stylistic decisions makes me think this was def recorded for NGHFB and shelved.
Glad it's finally out in any case.

Some people like Naked Demo version, other people like New version.
It is like The Beatles' The Long and Winding Road.

Now it has I really like that. If there was going to be a finished production of that song that was done right, I think that's it. Someone mentioned having a guitar solo at the end and while I agree, I do like that the intensity is full-on throughout the song and drops to the end to let it all simmer, kind of like an action film. I think a breakdown at the end with some of those dreamy synthesizers would've been cool too at the end, but this still good. Nicely done, Noel. 7.5/10

It's alright, it's just not a NGHFB song. Needs that Oasis wall of sound and some snarling Liam vocals.

Just like Freaky Teeth and Revolution song, the freshness and rawness of the demo is sadly missing. Would be interesting to know when this was recorded.

I also share the theory that it was held just in case oasis got back together. New version is slower, feels like it drags, and the strummy guitars make it quite Dadrock. Preferred it when it was a bit more driven. Choir definitely sounds reused from demo/DOYS version. If it IS mixed by Sardy, could this be a holdover from NGHFB? Sounds in that style. I don't think it's slower - running time is almost the same as the demo, seems like the same BPM.

It's fine, not sure it's an improvement on the demo really. I've always liked the bass, could maybe do with a bit more guitar work on it and Liam singing it of course.

I really like it, maybe it's because I haven't listened to the demo that much. I agree with the comments about Noel keeping the song for an Oasis comeback.
I'd say it sounds more like Chasing Yesterday than NGHFB though. The sharp guitar, Noel's voice... it reminds me more to that era.

Yeah, NGHFB didn't have this energy, nor this clarity in each channel. Very Chasing Yesterday, with elements of the current era (of course) in the added post-chorus guitar and the break.

Well, finally completed my EPs playlist/album Have moved it about a bit but settled on this which I think works 1. Evil Flower 2. Black Star Dancing 3. This Is The Place 4. A Dream Is All I Need To Get By 5. Blue Moon Rising 6. Rattling Rose 7. Wandering Star 8. Come On Outside 9. Sail On It's one short song of proper album length for my OCD, but as I think Lennon2217 has previously said, I reckon that collection of songs stands up with anything from either Gallagher post-Oasis.

I like it as new output BUT it's a little slow and kinda dull. Like the extra tinkering done for sake of it. His voice sounds a bit weaker than newer output on it...and needs heavier...much much heavier guitars. Demo alot better in my opinion...raw energy lost. It will as most...grow on me but having perhaps over played the denomlasy few years...tainted my opinion

Hi guys. Haven't posted in a long time.
Just came here to cry as a widow as well.
I surely didn't like the production... did someone get what he tried to do?
