18 days until we finally get a finished version of Come On Outside! I hope he doesn't f*ck up this time like he did with Revolution Song. God Help Us All was the biggest anti-climax for me. I used to really love the clip from the LDSMD documentary. Since the official release I've maybe listened to it 4 or 5 times.

It’s just a Kinks like song. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I expected it to not sound like a rushed, lifeless, one take affair, given that Noel had 13 years to do something with it. David Holmes should have had some input. Not to mention that we essentially paid £20 to own that one track on vinyl!

Like Sail On. I don't disagree but it was only ever just an 'okay' b-side, even the demo version really. Would have been nice to have more, definitely - cause there's a decent song there, but nothing really special IMO. Just don't think Holmes could have had any input. It was a song which was at least 12 years old at the time of release. Everything on Moon (not including DITW) was written / recorded in the studio.

Well this Come On Outside song will probably be the last ‘new’ song we hear from Noel for a few years won’t it. Not that bothered about it if I’m honest, I think the demo is very average and the new version probably won’t be much better.

I still love Dying of the Light and I don't get the hate that gets heaped upon it. Still an ace tune and the 'freshness' of Moon hasn't diminished that in the slightest.

The Dying of the Light is great, still one of my favourites from Noel's solo career.

It is great but I, and this is just my opinion obviously, am glad he's not retreading it and doing more and more. DITW was brilliant because it was so raw and all in one take etc. Dying Of The Light is good in it's own right but I'm glad he's not trying to do it again and again. Whether people like the new output or not is up to them but at least it is different and not just the same old stuff. It makes going back to songs like Dying Of The Light so much more special for me. If not you might as well just do two albums of exactly the same song like Richard Ashcroft (not that some of those songs aren't good in their own right too, but yoy get my point).

Melodically it's great and has some nice phrases in the lyrics. Some nice keyboards during the break would have been decent too.

My point being is that not much really changed for all of Noel’s famous soundcheck songs like If I Had A Gun, The Dying of The Light and God Help Us All. What we heard is basically how they were eventually recorded. The only one Noel took a chance on was Everybody’s On The Run and that was with mixed production results. Noel’s been cooking up a lot better tracks since all those were written.
