Please forgive my grammar lol.
The other day, I sat back and thought to myself....am I over Oasis?. Has a band that brought me so much joy from the mid 90s into my adult ran its course?.
I mean, I'll always love the songs but I was feeling...a bit over it.
I was just tired of the whole Noel vs Liam news in my feeds all day. I absolutely hate Noel's new stuff and direction but God Bless him for following his heart and musical path, but I don't think its good at all.
As for Liam, I find his new stuff above average. I love his spirit and Live Sets, mixing and mashing old with new and changing it up every few gigs with the odd old Nugget. But even for Liam, the twitter Noel hate has gotten old....
Anyhow, this will probably come accross overly dramatic but I cant help how I felt....
So having said all this, the other day I was like "enough of this band". I'll put em on the shelf and take a step back...maybe one day the boys will make up, Noel will write good tunes in his natural wheelhouse again and I'll come back.
I shit you not... as soon as I said this in my head within a few minutes something happened.
I was sent Liams New Acoustic Tracks. In an instant it was right back in 1995-96. This was the Acoustic album I always wanted. Liam singing Sad Song, Stand by Me and the unbelievable Cast No Shadow with a gorgeous piano hovering in the back.
I smiled to myself and said Mate...where the fuck are you going...
This was the greatest band in the world in my heart and soul. It will never let me leave.
Its that Oasis Magic.
Cheers.
