Good question. I would guess it’s the house/pool from the album cover? Dont think it would be the French chateau where they recorded SOTSOG. Last guess would be...some music execs home in London? Can’t remember either...was it recorded for a radio/TV show? I am guessing it was self released as promo for the big ballad...kinda like the live vids from Air Studios...

Somehwhere near Manchester/in Cheshire.

I've been trying to pin this down for a while (exact date and location). I remember when it was released, but even then MTV didn't list any real information on the video. The best that I can determine is that it was recorded at mansion owned by Bonehead in Cheshire, as others have pointed out. I am not sure that he still owns the property or not. He also owns a house closer to Manchester, where he lives. As for the when, the best I have been able to determine based on various bootlegs from the time is "July 1997", which makes sense as it was used to promote the release of Be Here Now in August, 1997. Oasis had the entire month of July off in 1997, so as to the exact date, we may need help from Bonehead himself to help pin it down. Adding to the confusion is the Chasing the Sun remaster of Be Here Now, which lists the recording location as "Bonehead's House, London" which is an obvious error in the liner notes (Bonehead never moved to London -- he always stayed with the other band members when down there).

The "outtake" on the remastered Be Here Now sounds very similar to this version, I've always thought. Could it be the same session?

I think so -- or at the very least its a different recording from the same day/session. My guess is that they probably did a few takes of it for the video in order to get enough angles.

Yeah, where though? Looking for an address. Don’t know the address but at the time Bonehead was living in Bowdon, Cheshire.

This video it's from the "Right Here, Right Now" BBC documentary previous to the Be Here Now release.
If you take a look at the Noel and Liam clothes and haircuts it looks like it's the same day as they record the "Stand By Me video by the pool".
So the place it's definitely in Manchester area. Maybe it's a clue to get the date too

I'm sure they did a few promos-interviews around Europe in july'97. I'm not sure which countries but I live in Spain and I remember they did some inteviews here. elpais.com/diario/1997/07/17/cultura/869090406_850215.htmlThat's from 15th july 1997 in Madrid. So at least we can discard that day as the videoshoot date!

This version has always been my favourite of the song and I think it's so much better than the album version.
