The very short song is a tricky one. When they're no good, you can wonder why the artist or band responsible even bothered to record them. But when they are good, it can feel like they're over too quickly, and you wish they'd recorded a longer take.
So I put it to you, good members of live4ever.com, which songs under two minutes do we know of are perfect--or not far off--as they are?
(Instrumental interludes and spoken word pieces are welcome; they don't have to be "songs" in the traditional sense of melody and rhythm, with hooks and lyrics, etc.)

List of more Beatles tunes under 2 minutes that I like:
I wanna be your man I'm happy just to dance with you I'll follow the sun why don't we do it in the road? Mean Mr. Mustard Carry that weight She came in through the bathroom window Polythene Pam

I remember being stunned that this Aesop Rock track only clocks in at 1:59. The story-telling is engaging enough to make every line either thoughtful or funny, so you feel like you've listening to a fairly thorough track at the end. April Come She Will by Simon & Garfunkel would be my other choice, but this one wins out for it's lyricism:
"I watched him relocating pistachio to the waffle, thinking I had lost the plot if not the passion for the novel."

An exuberent gem in The Jam's discography, 1980's 'Boy About Town'.

The quintessential british rock song. Lee Mavers really knew how to write melodies...

There's just so, so many. For some bands it's pretty much the norm. Minutemen's 'Double Nickels on the Dime' for example contains 33 of them alone.
Sub-minute songs is where it's at:

Sub-minute songs is where it's at: 52 seconds is still a bit long, don't you think? (I know punk is basically cheating for a topic like this, but I had to)

Incidentally, it was 'I Will' which gave me the idea for this thread. About six months ago I was listening to the White Album once again, and I got to 'I Will', and I thought what a breath of fresh air it is after two joke songs, Ringo's lumbering blues, and Macca's weird (but hugely enjoyable) 'Why don't we do it in the road?'. It's lovely and twee--very Macca; but a lot of its success is down to both where it's sequenced on the album and also its length, I think. It's the kind of song you don't want overstaying its welcome. It's just enough of a sugary hit, but not too much you start feeling sick.
