I like GLIO, but TSOL will always be my favourite Oasis song. It was what we needed in august 2008

I adore both.
Go Let It Out probably just edges it for me but TSOTL is brilliant.

Remember listening to the teaser of Shock about 500 times. "Come in come out toniiiiight". The chorus is so great. "Love is a time machine, up on the silver screen." I know it's nonsense, but it works so well and is the perfect example of Gallagher writiing at its best. GLIO – It's the solo and the way it builds up that gets me. Two brilliant tunes.

The drums alone on The Shock of the Lightning are better than Go Let It Out.

what the fickeldifuck? glio is an oasis classic, shock of the lighting is... i don't know, it's a "noel wants to write a song, that attracts (by that time) new teenage fans" song.

This is a ridiculously hard decision, going for go let it out, by the tiniest of margins, because it just sounds so..... Oasis, come to think of it, all the lead singles from 2000 onwards are very.....oasis, if you know what I mean

Contained none of the classic Oasis hallmarks. Beta Band style acoustics, hip hop drums, heavy mellotron, no guitar solo, gruff Liam vocal take. This is not your older brothers Oasis.

Go Let It Out but it's pretty close.

Was it a deliberate attempt though, or was it just his evolution as a songwriter? Either way, I really like the direction he'd taken with his post-90's material.
