Falling Down. That tune is one of the mysterious and hypnotic singles Oasis ever came out with, it's a real late-career highlight. Little by Little could have been good with a darker sound, but it's pretty bland as is.

Little By Little
Some awesome chorusing going on there 😎 I know that that sounds foolish but it's true 🙃

Falling Down is good throughout.
Little By Little could have been much better. Lyrics needed more work. Outro is great though.

Falling down is so incredibly overrated. Little by little for me.

Falling down is so incredibly overrated. Little by little for me. You have very odd Oasis opinions! Very contrarian.

I'm watching season 2 of "The Crown" currently and whenever it deals with Princess Margaret I wait for Noel to start singing "Falling down" even though I have not watched that video that often. So it gets my vote.

Falling Down. That tune is one of the mysterious and hypnotic singles Oasis ever came out with, it's a real late-career highlight. Little by Little could have been good with a darker sound, but it's pretty bland as is. LBL suffered from the poor production on HC. It's a good song but Noel's studio vocals sound less haunting and psychedelic, instead being more robotic, and it just needs to sound more space-y. It's on its way to being there but just doesn't full achieve it. The chorus is pretty good though, as is Noel's vocals in it. If only the build-up had been more natural than the "You know I didn't mean what I just said..." stuff that just sounds forced. Regarding Falling Down, you're right. I think that's a song that brings forth the potential Noel's current anti-big buildup and chorus songwriting approach has. The verses flow very naturally into the chorus and the arrangement allows the writing to shine rather than exposing its flaws like what happens on LBL.

"We the people fight for our existence, we don't mean to be perfect but we're free" is a terrible lyric that doesn't get enough hate on here. Even lines like "I can see a liar, sitting by the fire" are only dumb wtf nonsense, but Noel's attempt to say something "deep" and "profound" in Little by Little is far, far, worse than even the worst word-salad attempts.

Like many songs left over from the SOTSOG sessions, Little By Little was marred by Noel softening up the track by removing the darker lyrics and undertones. Even then, the lyrics were always pretty bland and cookie cutter like mystoryisgory pointed out above. Never was a good song at any stage. There's no contest to which song is superior.

I think I love every version of Falling Down outside the Chemical Brothers. That Gibb mix is the fucking bomb.
