Noel hasn’t even started on his next album so it’s 1-2 years away. Liam is intending to have a decent break before his next album.
So it seems like the perfect point to release something out of the Oasis archives...

Wouldn't it had made so much more sense to release this tomorrow and also put the tickets out for the Apollo / TCT gigs out tomorrow too.

As an independent artist, I think you just release it whenever the pressing plant and the distributor have room for you on the schedule. We all would like to think that Noel is still a big deal, but he isn't from a business point of view. |

So was BMR suppose to be the lead single, but Noel wanted Wandering Star for Xmas instead? I haven’t followed this at all so I’m genuinely confused.

Only speculation, but the belief is that a slow down in production at the main vinyl pressing plant in France caused the release to be moved from pre-Christmas to after. The theory is that as an independent artist with a low pressing, he got bumped/delayed for them to fulfill other orders sooner. There are some links to articles a few pages back in this thread that talk about the delay. Not sure about the timing (we would have to go back and piece it together) but it seems like when that happened, Noel went ahead and released the video to Wandering Star anyway to get some of that pre-Christmas publicity. Again, all just theories (with some evidence) at this point. |
