The White Album has quite a bit of shit on it but also a lot of magic. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da I still can't get through.

If we're counting yellow submarine, that's a bit worse than Let It Be.

I just realized we don't have a proper Beatles thread. Here we go. Rubber soul or revolver? Rubber Soul by a small margin. Overall, I think the quality of songs on Revolver is better but I'm not that keen on a number of songs on side 2(Dr Rob, Good Day Sunshine, Want to Tell You). I wish the Beatles included their singles on the albums, imagine it with Rain and Paperback Writer on. Same can be said for Rubber Soul and Pepper.

She was only on a few. And what few she was on she contributed nothing good. I disagree with you. You're not going to change my opinion. That's what opinions are for. Can we leave it at that? You said she almost ruined the white album. Why? Because of one song? There is a bunch of weaker or bad material on the white album. Honey Pies??? Far worse crimes than Yoko singing a line. But to each their own. I don't see how Yoko singing one line spoils the song anyway, sort of adds to the uneasiness if anything. Honey Pie is a great song in my opinion(nice guitar solo by John).

Same here, never understood the hate. It has that timeless signal of any true pop classic: people remember the chorus after hearing only the opening few chords.

People say that Ringo wasn't a great drummer, but guess what, Jonh wasn't a great guitarist either, George wasn't a great guitarist either and Paul wasn't a great bassist either, also they weren't great singers, on the flip side they were perfect songwriters, that's their strongest point.

Paul's actually a very good bassist by a technical standpoint. Ringo is a technically okay drummer who did some very cool sounding and interesting things. Harrison was a fantastic lead guitarist who has recorded some of the best solos ever. John was a decent rhythm guy, fine for what they were making. Paul's a fairly good singer and his voice has held up.

I don't want to diminish them of course, but as instrumentalists they were ok to very good, not great, at the time there were far better, even The Beatles recognised this. Pete Townshed, Clapton (who played the fantastic guitar solo on While My Guitar Gently Weeps) and Hendrix were all much better guitarists than any of them, as for bassists John Entwistle and John Paul Jones were better too, Moon and Bonham way better drummers than Ringo. As for singers, Robert Plant and Mick Jagger were much better singers than any of them with way better vocal range, not to mention Fred Mercury.

I always thought clapton was vastly over rated. Don't think he was that great. Same with hendrix. He was just a good blues rock guitarist who used interesting effects and techniques. But, as anybody can agree Lennon and McCartney are some of the finest songwriters of all time.

I really like Mick Jagger but I wouldn't say he's any better than John, Paul or George. Vocal range has never equated to good. Freddie Mercury had an amazing voice but as I think Queen are mostly shite that doesn't really matter to much. Would rather hear any of the three Beatles I mentioned singing.

They were all brilliant at playing in their own way. Paul was genuinely a great bass player. Technically the best musician in The Beatles, although George the best at guitar just because he had his own style. John was definitely the most raw in his playing. Some garage rock vibes with his rhythm guitar, he really gave it an edge.
And Ringo is a great drummer. Not flashy, but so tight and precise. That air of casualness to his playing and some of those drum fills just made it sound effortless.
