Anyone know if they’re planning to do remixes for all the albums — aka, the earlier ones? It's heavily rumoured that Rubber Soul will be the next one, so maybe they're planning on working backwards going forward. It's inevitable that all the albums will get the remix treatment, it's likely that we won't get more than one per year though, so at least that's better for our wallets. One per year working backwards to Please Please Me would take us up to 2028.

11. 'Magical Mystery Tour' (1967)
10. 'With the Beatles' (1963)

Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' (1967) I’m gonna assume you docked points for Magical Mystery Tour because it’s a compilation of 1967 singles and the movie EP. It does contain some all timers. Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, All You Need Is Love, I Am The Walrus, Hello Goodbye, Fool On The Hill, etc.

today.yougov.com/topics/entertainment/articles-reports/2022/10/13/how-americans-rate-beatles-and-their-songs-pollHuge study made about The Beatles in the States. What's even more interesting than the opinions on the tunes, is how familiar the people that took part in this survey were familiar with The Beatles tunes: - 'Hey Jude' seems to be the most transgenerational Beatles song, at least in the US. Only 4%* of the people in this survey said they weren't familiar with the tune, and it's the most known Beatles track for people under the age of 45 with less than 10% of people saying they didn't know the tune. 'Let It Be', 'Here Comes The Sun' and 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' aren't far behind. - 'Yesterday', on the other hand, has some big differences depending on the gen. Over the age of 45, basically everyone is aware of it. Between 18 and 44, more than 1 person out of 5 has said to not be familiar with it, being on par with the likes of 'Penny Lane' and 'Strawberry Fields Forever', and even behind 'Lucy In The Sky With Dimaonds' and 'Yellow Submarine'. - People under 45 are actually more familiar with 'Across The Universe' than the older generations. *Percentage aren't out of all the people in the survey but people who said to be at least somewhat familiar with The Beatles music in the first place.

I've no problem with remixing the Beatles back catalogue as its not an issue with the production, but just with the mixes. Stereo was in its infancy back then and you can tell as they were very shoddy, skewed mixes. The band always said it was just a mere afterthought so it is essential we get proper stereo mixes. But I don't agree with remixing All Things Must Pass. Stereo was developed well enough when that record was released to negate any issues with the mixes. The original stereo version sounded great. This remix is basically an admission that its a failure of production. It neuters much of the Phil Spector wall of sound production which I really like. It's a chaotic sound at times but awesome too and I think the remixes take a lot of the energy from it. Yeah the Beatles is an entirely different matter. They didn't touch the recordings. With this one it's really different, they removed Spector's production, apparently. On tracks like Wah wah it completely takes the grittiness of the recording off. I agree that sometimes it takes the energy off too. I still enjoy it though for what it is, and you can hear new bits pushed upfront. And on songs that are less rock n roll, it's very clean and pristine (more than it already was) My only concern is that sometimes it really feels like an unmixed records. With parts appearing from nowhere with no logic and real problem with levels. The guitars are also completely muted sometimes (on wah wah, it's wtf where are they). Feels kinda rushed tbh. Yea, a lot of people like to rag on the original All Things Must Pass (the song) but I liked the swells of all the different sounds create such a large soundscape; especially with the beautiful tension in the chorus, which gets released so beautifully with that amazing pedal steel guitar as the repeat of the second chorus goes into the verse...man. Spector knew what he was doing.

McCartney's output on the White album is simply admirable. Covered every genre, did so flawlessly and seemingly effortlessly. My favourite Beatle by a mile.

"And Ringo and a... Well, Ringo was there". Hahahaha Ringo is actually coming to my area in the fall with his All-Starr Band. I've heard of some of his shows and they seem fun, plus you're seeing a Beatle live and Ringo pulls some good weight with the musicians he gets (lead singer of Men at Work, Toto's guitarist, Edgar-freaking-Winter). I think I'll go see him.

After having listened properly to all their albums for the first time really, I now have the answer to which the bands 20 best songs are. In chronological order, because I can't decide the rankings for most of them.
I Saw Her Standing There From Me To You A Hard Day's Night Ticket To Ride Eleanor Rigby For No One Yellow Submarine She Said She Said Fixing A Hole She's Leaving Home When I'm Sixty Four A Day In The Life Dear Prudence Blackbird Helter Skelter Something I Want You The End Two Of Us Let It Be
(Day Tripper was closest to making the list. Another observation which didn't surprise me but still is a bit remarkable is the fact that only four songs made pre-1966 made the list.)

Any plans for reissues/remixes of the early albums? I hate those 2009 stereo version. I know that they're meant to be listened to in mono, but would love it if those early albums get finally proper stereo mixes.

Rubber Soul is this coming fall/winter. Then is Help.
