Bangkok setlist: Fort Knox Holy Mountain Keep On Reaching It's a Beautiful World She Taught Me How to Fly Rattling Rose This Is the Place Wandering Star Dead in the Water The Importance of Being Idle Little by Little Whatever The Masterplan Half the World Away Wonderwall Stop Crying Your Heart Out AKA... What a Life! Don't Look Back in Anger All You Need Is Love Hence a few changes here and there, isn't he tired of playing that same setlist over and over again? It's been two years now. And songs like WBTM and Black and White Sunshine haven't even made the setlist more than three times or something. Both in his Oasis catalogue as in his solo albums he has so much material he can dive into but he keeps on playing the same songs. He rather plays that fucking Beatles song for two years straight than rethinking his setlist and keep it interesting. It really amazes me. So so dull. It is basically the same setlist he played the whole way through the Who Built The Moon tour with a couple new tunes from the latest EP's. Isn't he and his band bored yet? I cannot for the life of me understand why the fuck he is STILL persisting with All You Need Is Love at the end. He has this incredible back catalogue to choose from and he picks the same Oasis tunes over and over again. A big reason why I've stopped going to watch Noel is I've seen the same thing over and over again, it's fucking boring.

Rattling Rose 8. This is the place 9. Wandering Star 10. Dead in the water 11. Importance of being idle 12. Little By Little 13. Whatever 14. The Masterplan 15. Half the world away 16. Wonderwall 17. Stop Crying your heart out 18. What a life 19. Don‘t look a back in anger 20. All you need is love Besides What A Life, he really seems to abandoned his solo work from the first two LPs? Sad, there are some incredible tracks. Was also hoping he would throw in one other song for the last gig in 2020, but no...when he announced Black Star Dancing, he did the same Oasis joke ("This one is for Oasis fans"). Otherwise, he was very quiet on stage. At one point, YSEE had some kind of problem, looked technical with her in-ear or monitor and Noel paused and went over to his sound guys seemingly being quite angry at them. After 2 minutes, the show continued. Got one nice pic of Noel and two others to illustrate how small the concert was in the end, they really had big troubles with the ticket prices to sell.

Once he builds a setlist and works in his banter it stays that way forever it seems. Was like that for HC, DBTT, STC acoustic gigs, DOYS, HFB, CY and now with MOON.

It is harder to make the 9 guys in the band engaged with older material. Noel talked about it on the beats one interview with Zane Lowe, didnt likes when people are awkardly watching their phones while the others rehearse.

Can confirm he also did the 'this one is for the Oasis fans' in Australia, also did a few other jokes I had seen him do before in live shows online

I remember a journalist asking Noel circa 2009 why he never changed his setlist throughout the tour, he replied "You've got to have discipline".

A few crowds like that would knock Noel down a peg or two and maybe force him to change his set list. AYNIL really is a dire closer.

It is harder to make the 9 guys in the band engaged with older material. Noel talked about it on the beats one interview with Zane Lowe, didnt likes when people are awkardly watching their phones while the others rehearse. The song he gave as an example for people on their phones was Half The World Away, which didn’t make a ton of sense to me as it’s only missing the girls, the brass play on it. As for missing out the first two albums - it’s only really been since the Pumpkins tour. Before that this year, he was still playing a couple of them regularly - they even reworked The Mexican slightly to include YSEE. I expect with the next cycle he’ll take a more holistic view of his solo catalog - look at how much from the first two was included for the main Moon tour from Feb - June ‘18. That was far more than I expected based on how his setlist evolved toward the end of the Chasing Yesterday tour. If he comes out with a new album in ‘21, those shows will feature most of the new album and a healthy amount of older HFB tracks, with 4 or 5 Oasis songs - as he did in ‘15 and ‘18. I don’t really expect any marked change from the present shows for the summer of ‘20, but I’d love to be surprised.

Will Noel support U2 in India? If so, he should definitely play The Hindu Times.

Yeah, I think I have to clarify as my pictures got misinterpreted. The ones with the few people in are AFTER the concert, I took them just to illustrate how small the venue was. From the left side barrier to the right side stage in my Panorama shot, it's probably about 100 meters only.
But for the small size it was, it was full during the concert. Still, how many people can you fit on about 500 sqm? Maybe like 1.000? The Liam concert here was much bigger. But yes, it's the promoters fault, that promoter sucks big time in Bangkok and I don't like concerts run by them. There is always something shit, e.g. for this one, they didn't allow to take beer inside the stage area. So you had to drink behind the curtain outside of the stage area and then walk in dry.

The thing for me is that Noel use to be really careful about setlists and now it seems he wants to piss people off by putting the first 10 songs of his latest work. And then the rest of the gig is just Oasis classics. It's even more lazy than the usual, and pisses off every non hardcore fan.

He expects his hardcore fans to show up at the beginning of the set, so he plays his solo stuff. But by the end of the set, when people have arrived for U2 and it's mostly casual anyways, that's when he plays the big Oasis hits. Like how many non-hardcore fans are showing up at the beginning of Noel's set when he's opening for U2? It's not lazy. It's actually very smart.

But as a hardcore fan, I would also like to hear The Right Stuff, A Simple Game of Genius, Dream On, If I Had a Gun, Lock all the Doors etc. That he is totally omitting his first two records (let aside What a Life) is at least weird, I think.
