I know it's to facilitate Noel and Gem's guitar changes and things, but I really wish they could do without that black pavilion thing behind the band for the U2 shows. I noticed this last time too - it just makes the whole thing look really weird and out of place.

The black pavilion/marquee behind the band is to cover up Larry Mullen’s drum kit as it’s already set up for U2. I remember seeing a second marquee on stage in 2017 at a show where it might have rained.

Show 3 of the tour tonight in Brisbane.
There was only one change to the set list for the second Auckland show with Little By Little replacing Wonderwall.

Saw Noel for the first time ever yesterday, even though the crowd was TERRIBLE it was still awesome seeing him in the flesh. I enjoyed his witty remarks even more than his actual songs tbh as he was great fun as always, coming out with quite a few brilliant one liners.
Also one other thing and I think people will dislike it. I am 20 years old. Filming a concert often gets put down as a 'millennial' characteristic but I tell you what I was very close to the stage for U2 and the amount of people looking at the gig through their phone camera was ridiculous. I am not even into U2 that much tbh I was more there to see Noel but even I couldn't fathom how people would rather film the entire concert to show off to Sharon and Barry on Facebook rather than enjoy the moment. I go to see gigs all the time that have younger average ages and you see a LOT less phones out, fair enough if you want the odd 10-20 second video to help you remember it down the line but when people are doing full songs that is ridiculous. Worst part about it is that these people are normally the very same people who complain about millennials being addicted to their phones.

Anybody also at the solo concert in Bangkok on Saturday? Tickets are outrageously expensive (which is in general the case for international acts in Thailand, but for Noel the price is even higher than for comparable acts), so I'm curious how packed (or empty) it will be.
I got the VIP (front row) anyway...which equals about 120 GBP. Starting price is 90 GBP.
For comparison: Tickets for The Killers last year ranged from 72-90 GBP and I just went to a 2-day festival with King Gizzard, The Horrors, The Drums, Swim Deep and Bombay Bicycle Club in Bangkok for a ticket price of 120 GBP...so I'm wondering if the booking agency is not shooting themselves in the foot as the outdoor venue is quite large. Tickets still seem to be widely available.

I don't even know if their Asian tours ever took them to Bangkok, & if Noel ever played there since he went solo.

I don't even know if their Asian tours ever took them to Bangkok, & if Noel ever played there since he went solo. There is a strong local fan base in Bangkok (for instance, a really sweaty drunken night is this Oasis coverband night in Bangkok: www.facebook.com/events/2383765675220235/) and a big British expat population (20.000 - 30.000). Though the local fan base is usually on the lower ends of the average income and those ticket prices would eat up a very big junk of a monthly salary. Noel played Bangkok before in 2012 (ticket prices ranging between 20-60 GBP back then) and Liam was here once in early 2018 (concert was a disaster, he was not fit and cut the gig short). Oasis played in Bangkok once in 2006 (it was part of a 2-day concert night with Ian Brown, Placebo, Maximo Park and Franz Ferdinand) - I didn't live here at the time, but what I've heard from other Oasis fellows here it was an awesome gig. Initially, I was surprised that he makes that stop in Bangkok. I almost bought tickets for U2 in Singapore on Nov 30 and Dec 1 as I assumed he'll support their too. However, Bangkok has a stronger concert promoter scene for 3-4 years, so I guess they must have made him a very good offer to turn down supporting U2 in Singapore and instead do a solo show in Bangkok? Hence the ticket prices maybe...

Newest development for the Bangkok concert (and confirming my suspicions that they are having a hard time selling tickets): The concert ground on Saturday belongs to a shopping/event mall. They just announced free 2nd category standing tickets if you shop at their mall for 200 GPB today and tomorrow. Gutted I bought the ticket in the first place though, I could have definitely gone on a shopping spree there...

Bangkok setlist:
Fort Knox Holy Mountain Keep On Reaching It's a Beautiful World She Taught Me How to Fly Rattling Rose This Is the Place Wandering Star Dead in the Water The Importance of Being Idle Little by Little Whatever The Masterplan Half the World Away Wonderwall Stop Crying Your Heart Out
AKA... What a Life! Don't Look Back in Anger All You Need Is Love
Hence a few changes here and there, isn't he tired of playing that same setlist over and over again? It's been two years now. And songs like WBTM and Black and White Sunshine haven't even made the setlist more than three times or something.
Both in his Oasis catalogue as in his solo albums he has so much material he can dive into but he keeps on playing the same songs. He rather plays that fucking Beatles song for two years straight than rethinking his setlist and keep it interesting. It really amazes me.
