Solo Liam was always the best course of action. That might not be true, I know you have often said it but there are no certainties about how things might have turned out had Liam gone solo straight away. Who would he have worked with? No Debbie driving him? How much interest was there in a Liam solo project after Oasis spilt up? Sometimes you have to go close to the bottom before you can get up again. I wouldn't change anything, so fart its all worked out pretty well. That’s the difference. I’m viewing solo Liam in 2011 as a positive. You are looking at it potentially more negative. I’ve been strong on this party line since the day Oasis split. Demanding both brothers strike solo. I laid out the plan I wanted Liam to follow back in 2009. - Take an extended break. - Link up with a songwriting partner like Robbie Williams did with Guy Chambers. - Work with a fresh young producer like Danger Mouse It took 10 years but a lot of what I said back then eventually did happen. Staying with Andy and Gem was never a choice I wanted him to make. It was keeping the status quo but missing one huge ingredient.......the creative songwriter.

No.
Hats off to (especially) Liam and the guys that they didn't play Oasis songs in first place.
Beady Eye had a potential, especially with their second album, but all the other things which had nothing to do music got so involved with their further career at that time - Liam's divorce, love child, Gem's injury. It's a shame that they called a day, but without Beady Eye, I don't think Liam would have been what he is now.

Liam doing that in 2010/11 to start the decade would've been an epic move to put one up on Noel and get the decade started right.

Even a double dose of Viagra wouldn’t make BDI last longer.

The problem was, neither playing Oasis songs nor not playing Oasis songs felt right at that time. Both options felt awkward. They were fucked. Quite. It was ridiculous to see Liam Gallagher and have him ignore his history.

Does anybody know if Liam is in good/speaking terms with Gem, Andy or Chris?

Does anybody know if Liam is in good/speaking terms with Gem, Andy or Chris? Probably not, but one reason I really liked Beady Eye was they seemed a good bunch of lads who really got on well together.
