So, as a test, I just did a new master of Some Might Say, using the audio from the 2003 SACD surround mix. While that mix is okay, I thought it needed its ass kicking some (to bring back more of that 'wall of sound'), so I messed around and here it is. clyp.it/3f34q0d1?token=712ec7388bd035e5d3485e54aef5cbc9(apologies if it shouldn't be shared...)

Great job man, you should put these together as a Zip file and give the link. I like how you brought out the tambourine more.

Morning Glory sounds awesome. Drums aren't too clear like on the Sardy Mix but aren't muffled like the Morris album version, they sit in the mix properly and have that loud pulsating feel. And the guitars still crunch. I don't know if you kept the compression but the loudness will always sound proper with Oasis.
Some Might Say has always been a tricky bugger. I've had a couple of attempts remixing it myself and with the multitracks given it always ends up sounding artificial and not organic like with Owen's work. He also used different variations of guitar tracks compared to what we've been given, even with the SACD. It sounds good but not as organic or imitating a live sound like Morning Glory.

Yeah 'artificial' is definitely the right word, with SMS. All about production, drum sound etc. everything matters! Cheers about Morning Glory...! It might be distorted craziness but it sounds like Oasis, 5 guys in a room, turned up to max. Interestingly, I never heard that Sardy mix... Looking at Hey Now and the SACD mix is really dumb. I started messing with these 3 tracks first cause I know they're the most problematic, but Hey Now is easily the worst... I really wish I could have a crack at mixing the entire record with the original files!!

I think you'd be safe, the album is 24 years old and your giving your own master, I'll ask a mod.

There won't be any download links. Hey Now is here on Clyp - clyp.it/d5snt2lg?token=97ed61cb0de6464113a028023f125cbeThe hardest one to deal with out of all tracks...but anyway, I'm still relatively happy with it. Some boomy stuff going on, but whatever! (I'll probably have another crack at it later...)
