you obviously weren't watching Arsenal closely last season when from September to March, it was like playing with 10 men at times when Vieira was in the team.
He only started to look like the Vieira we know after the humiliating defeat by United at Highbury - by then the season was fucking over.
I don't want to see Patrick Vieira leave but at 29, he's seen better days, I'd rather Thierry Henry was our Captain, we've got replacements and the money will come in handy.
The very fact the Arsenal board are listening to Juve should tell you he is not valued as highly as he used to be.
Barca came sniffing around Henry and were told where they could go.
Villareal enquired about Gilberto - that was rebuffed.
If we were to sell Vieira and raise the funds to purchase a player like Essien, no Arsenal fan would complain.
The difference btw Arsenal and Chelsea last season was purely at the back. Vieira's presence did little, if nothing to stop the embarrassing amount of goals we conceded.
When Swiss Tony came into the team and he and Lehmann developed a good understanding, Toure started to play better and at one point we had conceded 1 goal in 11 games.
It's not suicide Dom - not in the slightest.

last season veria didnt have the best, but on pure performance wise henry didnt match his previous season, he broke his own record for going games without goals like, veria was made to play with fabragas, which although not his fault, meant he couldnt roam as much as hed like, when veria plays along side gioberto, he is one of the most awsome forces in the world, someone once said when keanes running at you, you know he is gonna play a pass through you, when veria is running at you you no he is gonna take it around you, id take patrick over anymidfeilder anytime, pat and titi are the only arsenal players that would still be amazing if they played for a shitty wee team, form is tempuary, class is permanant

Vieira would be a loss to Arsenal without any question, he didnt have he's best year last year but he is still a very good player. I also think he missed playing in the middle with Gilberto for the majority of last season he plays alot better when paired with him.
Arsenal however could use the money they get for Vieira to get a younger replacement which could be a good thing.

The difference last year was injuries. No question. Admittedly it wasn't all bad, (still pulled off second after all) because now we know about the future through Fabregas, Senderos, Flamini and RvP. But when you're going say 5 games without 9 or 10 first team players, that's going to show, and it did.
I personally think we could live without Vieira, but, I'd much rather he stayed.
