I was just wondering how many people out there actually care about the NHL. I'm a huge hockey fan but as far as I know, in the States it's about as popular as professional box building....if there is such a thing.......anyways...just wanted to here some opinions. Cheers.

I don't care at all. Could care less if the NHL made a return in the fall. The players don't care about the fans or the sport. They're just out to make money.

I live in the US and have been playing hockey since i was 6. That is probably the only reason that I miss it. However i have to agree with step out that if the players really cared enough for the fans and the game there would have been a season this year

The players care about playing, they must some way or another, otherwise I'm sure they'd've stopped playing at 15 I love playing, been playing since I was 4 actually. On the other hand, they're still a bunch of greedy bastards. They're playing hockey for a living for fuck sake

I care. I'm Canadian and now live in the States. Hockey doesn't translate well to television though. Live it is one of the best sports in the world. But it will never be very popular. Attendance wise it's fine, but television ratings are aweful. And to defend the players, everyone seems to be calling them greedy. You need to do your homework. They were locked out by the owners. It's not a strike. The players took 24% pay cuts in this deal. It's funny how the players took paycuts, but do you think owners will lower ticket prices. Doubtful.

Yes but how many of those owners were losing money to begin with?
.......Disregarding the some 300Million they forwent this year

I think if they didn't put a salary cap in place the league would have gone under. It needed to be done.

Ticket prices are outrageous for a Leafs game. I haven't been in years.

Ticket prices are outrageous for a Leafs game. I haven't been in years. Know exactly what you mean, and the stupid thing is, tickets are always sold out. 300 for 4 decent tickets? No thank you

I remember a couple of years back they had a glowing puck for the games that were televised in the states so people watching at home could see the puck.

Maybe I'll see you when the leafs play the sabres, cheaper to drive to buffalo than buy tickets for the ACC. And as for crosby? I'm going to make the humble prediction and say Rookie of the Year

The glowing puck!!! what a joke that was. So the Americans can't see a black puck on white ice. How do Americans see a tiny white baseball or golf ball in the clouds and then say they can't see a black puck on a white surface?
