After another day and a few listens, It's actually better than 50% of WBTM.

The more I listen the more I like it, probably the best one of the EP's bunch.

I get a strong Arcade Fire feel in this track. I get ZERO Arcade Fire vibes. Not even remotely close.

I love expecting it to end and then it returns, like drifting in and out of conciseness, and those la la land are just so catchy 🌎🚀🌜 Not to turn this into a NoelvsLiam thread, but I miss stuff like this on Liam's tunes, only One Of Us so far has anything more than just the basics. I just wish the gospel outro was much longer 😁

I really like it. For me, it is the best one yet from Noel's EP. This type of "whispery" / soft song goes very well with his voice.

After a few days listening I reckon its definitely a grower...
Although I feel like it's a bit of miss in terms of production. Just played this one on the acoustic guitar and sounds really good. I think if this had a vibe more Dying Of The Light or Let There Be Love could feel much more like a classic Noel Gallagher song.

We don’t need yet more Let There Be Loves or Dying of the Lights to turn it into another cliched sounding Noel song. His discography is full to the brim of all those tunes.

This is a great tune, quite exotic and mystical. If Noel is to write an album full of standard songs again, this is the approach to go about it rather than resorting to yet more rehashed derivative and cliched sounds that spoilt the early phase of his solo career (tbf, this was also a hangover from the equally uninspired latter Oasis).
The ‘la la la’ part in the middle and end are real pay offs, one of the best hooks he’s done in recent years. Very dreamy. His music is a lot more sophisticated these days - no plodders, no awful bland guitar chugs like Simple Game Of Genius. It’s all very slick and more subtle. Getting rid of overbearing bland guitars also suits his voice very well.
Songs like this and One Of Us from Liam show a real mature and melancholy edge to their music. I’d like to think that if Oasis made an album today, this would be the form it would take and not the derivative nonsense we were left with in the 2000s.

YouTube Vid only has 4k views in 24hrs. That is really bad. Everyone has turned on him I don't think many have actually turned on him. It's more a case of nobody caring.

The three tunes from BSD and the two so far have all been fantastic. This could have been a great album if the rest add as good as these

There's no official video, out of us fans, not many people know that the song is out. When an official video is released, all followers are notified, that's not the case now, you have to look for it and if you're not aware, you're not going to look for it . It's also not a single, there's no promotion for that song except a post on NG instagram that was dead for 2 years... Oh and Noel isn't big on youtube at all, that's not new ^^ But sure, none of that matters, it's all just because nobody cares...xD

So the only way of listening to the tune is or Spotify or an unofficial video. So I think its not a case of nobody caring, just a terrible marketing.

In release order, it’s actually a nice little listen. Black Star Dancing Rattling Rose Sail On This Is The Place A Dream Is All I Need

EPs are a bad idea anyway, people dont have the patience to hunt for new stuff anymore. Releasing one song at a time is dumb. He should just have released all the songs and call them "throwaways : the album of leftovers". It would have been perceived a bit better.
It keeps him in the news on a regular basis though, that was probably the point of the whole thing.

Fuck it, upping this to a 9/10. It’s a brilliant track, I have no significant criticism.

Two tweets and one instagram post, alright. My bad, it's huge promotion, the whole world heard about it that's for sure ! Come on, I hope you realize that twitter isn't as big or used than you think. Noel's a 50 years old artist, most of his fans don't bother being on twitter, I'm not on twitter and will never bother ^^ But sure, you're free to paint the gloomiest possible picture just 2 days after the song is out.

most of his fans don't bother being on twitter, I'm not on twitter and will never bother ^^ This is exhibit A of what is wrong with the internet. You have no way of knowing whether or not his fans use Twitter. That is your opinion, not a fact. To state it as such without actual evidence doesnt make it so. The arguement that because you dont do something and are a fan is representative of all fans is a logical fallacy. His fans may use Twitter or not. Who knows. The point is that they didn't do zero promotion for it and it certainly wasn't limited to Instagram like you claimed. Also, it's a b-side to an EP. Seems to me a few posts on Twitter and Instagram is the right amount of promotion, as its targeted to people whom follow Noel and not worth the time or money beyond what they have already put in to marketing This Is The Place.
