55 minutes and i should have this ready to be added to my Spotify playlist. And let's see if they drop the music video tomorrow, even if i'm with Lennon in that not being very relevant anymore in 2019.

Wow if you go back to when it first dropped there is every single opinion of this possible -
Good song, bad song. Great vocals, poor beady eye vocals. Great outro, awful outro. Great modern production, crappy pop radio friendly production. Good single choice, just a decent album track.
Just shows you how subjective music is and that no one needs to get annoyed when someone else has a different opinion.

If Liam would of sang on this during the BE era it would of been a complete nasal mess.
It's hard not to sound nasal doing this type of vocal delivery, I struggled with it quite a bit.
Liam sounds great now though, loving his vocals on this album so far.

I'm listening to it on Spotify and I'm really liking One Of Us. Judging from a few comments here I was afraid the last part of the song would be jarring/out of place, but it's nothing like that, everything flows really well imo.
My ranking so far:
1. Once 2. Shockwave/One Of Us 3. The River

I fucking love it, all his singles so far represent the different parts of Liam Gallagher that make him (and made Oasis) so good. The ability to do a melancholic masterpiece ballad like Once, alongside an instantly catchy rock tune like Shockwave, together with a dirty rock piece like The River and now this truly beautiful pop song One of Us. I can't actually seperate any of them, they're all just the Liam Gallagher we know and love. He's Quadrophenic!

He'd lost all his power and everything was going through the nose.

If anyone wants to play along the chords are:
Capo 3rd
Verse - Am, C, Dm
Chorus - F, Am, C, Dm with an F played on the "in time" part.
The "heyyyyy" part and outro is - C, Dm, Am
Probably not 100% right but sounds pretty close.

His best single so far from this album, by some distance. I’m not going to beat about the bush, I think all the other songs are mediocre but this one hits the spot. Getting Ian Brown solo vibes from this which is a great thing. Couldn't agree more mate. Find it interesting that a lot of people who don't seem to rate it are the ones who can't abide Noel's new stuff too (not all though, I'm not meaning to generalise, I just find it interesting). Guess it's just a matter of taste and that's fine as people like what they like and end of the day it's all opinion. I would much rather hear Liam's voice to something like this, with a real groove and good lyrics, than something like Once which for me is somebody trying to follow a 'guideline to an Oasis anthem' and getting it all wrong. That's not to say I think Once is awful, it just didn't stick with me after initially I really liked it. Shockwave is okay and The River has grown on me, but this has just hit the spot. Really like it and in all honesty has got me a lot more geared up for the album. Also Oa great cover as always, and thanks for the chords!

Very good. I would much prefer an album of more mature sounding songs like this, instead of 'Rivers' and 'Shockwaves'.

I just think it feels a bit like 'angry man is angry' even though Liam isn't angry, if you get me. But it's got some good moments. This builds and builds though. Really dig it.

This somehow reminds me of the first time I heard Scorpio Rising. Maybe it’s because both are something I wasn't expecting, but sound so modern and refreshing. Liam's vocals work really great as well.

"Liam has co-written the song with musician Andrew Wyatt and says that One Of Us is about “family, friendship and a sense of belonging”. The words begin with the intriguing lines “Hey kid did you know, today sixteen years ago, it was you and I for the last time?” The song also says makes reference to the Liam's favourite Oasis song Live Forever: "Act like you don't remember, you said we’d live forever, who do you think you’re kidding? You are only one of us, in time.” The track also features Liam’s son Gene Gallagher on bongos, while Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner plays guitar. “I love the groove and the gospel outro,” continues Liam. “It reminds me of The Sweet Inspirations." The group mentioned were a soul quartet featuring Cissy Houston, mother of Whitney. www.radiox.co.uk/artists/liam-gallagher/liam-gallagher-claims-one-of-us-about-family/
