I listen to his first album loads and theres about 12 songs i love and a few skippers. But thats a good ratio.
Again Wyatt and co and his management did a great job getting Liam back to where he is now. I remember being 'nervous' when he announced his tour in case it flopped but it was huge. That comeback gig at the Ritz was one of the best nights i've had musically.
The management and promotion have been superb, for Beady Eye it was dire.
Again its great how popular he is with tons of different ages of fans. This tour should be superb, hes doing lots of Oasis fan favourites (apparently) as well

Well I mean they are fired guns. You go in knowing that. They work with artists, their likes and their image. They are cooking shit up based on a collaboration to some degree. And yes I get it, we all wanted Shallow on Liam's second LP. I hear you. There obviously needs to be some elements of that. But when Liam is writing better tunes than some of the songs hes being given, there is something not quite right. I love Chinatown for instance, but whoever written that has decided to put questionable lyrics in to basically mimic Liams (at times) basic style. The happiness is still a warm gun line is unecessary as fuck. Stuff like that is my biggest issue. What full songs is Liam writing that are better? I get it, Liam can and will write a quality tune. The problem is it usually takes a long long time and you have to be able to write 17-20 songs every two years to make albums.

I fucking love it, all his singles so far represent the different parts of Liam Gallagher that make him (and made Oasis) so good. The ability to do a melancholic masterpiece ballad like Once, alongside an instantly catchy rock tune like Shockwave, together with a dirty rock piece like The River and now this truly beautiful pop song One of Us. I can't actually seperate any of them, they're all just the Liam Gallagher we know and love.

Andrew Wyatt, biggest con artist since Mark Ronson. Good tune though and great production ! ahah well didnt know he wrote that stupid shallow song. he's also behind most of that terrible terrible Carl Barat solo album. did not know that. It all makes sense now, he's learnt from the master. Even Noel Gallagher is an amateur next to those guys.

As longtime fans, we are quite familiar with Liam's penchant for inserting Beatles references into his tunes, so in this way it seems logical for these newer tunes to follow suit. I do wonder what this forum's reaction would be if the lyrical prowess on Why Me Why Not? rivaled well-renowned lyricists such as Morrissey or Elvis Costello. In such a scenario, would Liam be seen as an even bigger sellout, a lyrical prophet, or somewhere in between?

I'm not saying he should go down the route of doing everything by himself. Bold and Greedy Soul are as good as anything on that album for me. Everyone ive played the album to who are casual fans love All I Need and Bold. Im sure youll disagree but when a song like Chinatown is out and everyone's assuming its Liam (and one of Liams worst lyrically) could he not be doing better than that approach?

Decent tune. As Rolo said, more of an album track for me quality wise. But catchy, pleasant, and I think is likely to grow on me.

Imagine my surprise that the same 3 people have nothing but negative posts on it. It's as if they copy & paste the same criticism for every song. 🙄

Haha he had a screen telling him the Oasis lyrics when he was still in Oasis ffs. He isnt constantly looking down at words in any Oasis live videos ive seen. Certainly not anything before 2005. He massively disrupts his flow and confidence live singing new songs because he hasnt bothered to learn them properly. This is a major issue i have, amongst others, with him just churning out other writers tunes. He is just seeing it as 11 songs he can bung together and doesnt have any sort of attachment to them. Im not saying he never read oasis lyrics in the studio. Of course he fucking did cos they aren't his songs. What im saying is made them just as much his with the delivery. Fuck me this place is touchy as fuck. I agree wholeheartedly with you fartpanic .

Not impressed. Love the other tunes, but this was a step back for me. His voice sounds similar to the songs on BE imo, which was awful.
