I'm surprised this hasn't been done already.
Strong 8 for me. Possibly my favourite of all the recent Noel / Liam tunes.

8/10. Lovely song. Great lyrics which are very relatable.
Really hope he releases an album one day full of songs like Sail On and Just Let It Come Down Over Me. Noel at his best in my opinion.

8. An effortlessly breezy and beautiful song. It doesn't fit the context of the EP but it stands out as its own.
The lyrics "Tell the world I'm gonna miss them but I've got to find a place where I belong" is one of my favorite Noel's lyrics.

I'm not keen on it, Rattling Rose was my favourite of the 3 on the EP. This is a bit like I'd Pick You Every Time but not as enjoyable for me, I just think the bit about the girl behind the counter is a bit corny. 5/10

...I just think the bit about the girl behind the counter is a bit corny... I agree, the “counter” is a bit too specific and stood out straight away for me as being a bit odd. I’d have much preferred something a bit more abstract like - The girl behind the “daydream” or “ blue eyes” or even “window”. Just something less clumsy. Would’ve made it a 9, but yeah it’s a very pretty tune the way it is.

Got to be a 5 for me. I like the melody and the lyrics, but the banjo and the repetitive ending makes it a bit hard for me to love it

Solid 8 for me, this song is proof that he hasn't lost his knack for writing a beautiful wistful pop song when he gets round to doing it instead of "experimenting" to mixed results IMO.
I'm looking forward to this new song that reportedly sounds like the Smiths (can't remember what it's called).

I'd go with 7/10. It does it's job, it's well-produced and has a nice little melody, but if I never heard it again I wouldn't be devastated.

6/10
Excellent vocal delivery from Noel, smooth as butter 😍 This song is what Noel does best; a song about hope with picturesque lyrics. It's not an epic classic, but it's solid B-side material akin to the '90s.

8 for me. I know from experience that i am prone to hype so maybe my score will go down a bit with time, but I think Noel achieved exactly what he wanted here

Says it all to me that this was left over from CY. Best song since that era.
Back when Noel was making songs that he was truly great at creating, because he wasnt subconsciously writing for music critics and peers that have always scoffed at his apparent generic and formulaic approach.

For those that ordered the last EP, did anyone else get access to the digital download of Sail On? All others popped up for d/l on the webstore, but not this...

More than 50% thought this was an 8 or more? You all must be on the same stuff Noel was on in the 90's... Ratings are completely subjective, if someone really enjoy the songs, get loads of emotions from it, if he really loves it, why shouldn't he rate it as an 8 ? It's a personal judgement, so he's right. ^^ There's probably as many different ways of ratings a song than there is fans here. Some will only use the scale to judge NGHFB songs, some all Gallagher's songs, some all songs in the world... It's ok to do rating between fans, but they're at no point objective or relevant. And more importantly we're fans, we're the worst people you can find to objectively judge a gallagher song, and in the end, there's no way to rate a song, rating emotions is nonsense. A song that isn't good for you can be good for somebody else, nobody's right and nobody's wrong
