What do y’all think about their cover of this song? I feel like it’s sort of forgotten and it’s not on any compilation or the Be Here Now reissue(which I have no idea why it isn’t) I used to love it but now it’s starting to sound plain compared to Bowie’s version. Curious what everyone else thinks since it’s such a forgotten song of theirs.

It's not good but I love the euphoric 90s feel of it.

It's not good but I love the euphoric 90s feel of it. It misses the quirkiness of the original as they've tried to turn it into a 90s anthem. It's partially successful and kicks off well but soon runs out of steam.

Is it just me or did Noel change the order of the verses or leave some out?

I believe the reason why heroes is not on the be here now reissue is because it is a cover and they would have to pay royalties to bowie’s estate. This is the same reason why Street fighting man is not on it and the real trip inside be here now demo was removed at the last minute

People don’t like it. I don’t know why it’s hated so much - it’s very much like Magic Pie in this regard. I think it’s a decent enough cover.

Only beaten by Street Fighting Man as the worst cover Oasis/Noel/Liam/Beady Eye ever did

Shit compared to the original but would be good if Noel wrote it. Eno's synths make the song.

Pretty awful! I wonder why they chose it as a b-side for D'ya you know what I mean..... I mean first single off Be Here Now... it must of sold close to a million copies?? So should have picked a stronger b-side...

Used to love it for a bit about 18 years ago. Didn't think much of it last time I listened to it. Kasabian's cover is quite good.

The Cover of Street Fighting Man was total shit. This is when Alan White's style began to irritate me - the same fill from the beginning of Roll With It, replicated in many Oasis tracks he drummed on.
