dig out your soul couldve been possibly the best record since BHN or WTSMG if it had stronger songs in its second half.
come on outside and record machine certainly shouldve been on there. Even as it is, I wouldve included I believe in all and BWTB
Its mind blowing to me that they chose aint got nothin over I believe in all anyway, specially since the closing vocals of that tune wouldve fed in nicely to soldier on.

You leave the first three albums alone, Sonny Jim.

I posted this in another thread, but I like this alternate tracklisting I've made for Don't Believe The Truth: 1. Lord Don't Slow Me Down (Liam on vocals) 2. Eyeball Tickler 3. Lyla 4. The Importance Of Being Idle 5. Guess God Thinks I'm Abel 6. Turn Up The Sun 7. The Meaning Of Soul 8. The Boy With The Blues 9. Part Of The Queue 10. Let There Be Love. I like the selection of songs, would swap Turn Up The Sun' back as an opener, LDSMD woulf be necesary in the second half as the rocker. If Liam could re-record his vocals for Keep the Dream Alive it could be here with a bit of trimming down as well.

First three albums need no tracklist alterations (BHN just needs is small bit of editing, nothing too much).
It's SOTSOG and beyond that needs heavy work done. Unfortunately certain songs needed to be redone with Liam vocals or reimagined, as well as less Gem/Andy tracks.

I was reading the first post and for most albums I was thinking "nope" each time I saw a song that wasn't originally there. I think I've come to see most Oasis records as they are and can't really think of them any differently.
Given I was a teenager when the first three records came out, I can't picture them as anything else than what they were.
The best songs from the SOTSOG era that aren't on the record don't fit with the songs that are. Of course Let's All Make Believe is a way better song than Who Feels Love, PYMWYMI, Little James and I Can See A Liar. But it wouldn't fit musically, to me anyway. Same with Full On or any of the others.
Heathen Chemistry's b-sides were, to me, weaker than the album bar Idler's Dream and Shout It Out Loud. The same goes for DBTT. For those records, the songs that are there fit together. They're cohesive like the first two records and The Masterplan were. Some changed could be made but not with the available songs at the time.
DOYS is the only one that could/should have a different tracklisting but the remaining songs still don't fit with the rest of the album. Come On It's Alright doesn't belong there, neither do Stop The Clocks and Record Machine. The first half is so different to the rest that, to have a proper record, the other half should go in a similar way (which it doesn't).
