Still remember that time vividly thanks to some important life happenings at the time. Can't wrap my head around 30-minutes of silence though.

I'll never forget where I was the first time I listened to "A Quick Peep".

I remember a Spanish TV show premiering The Hindu Times music video back then. When the video ended the tv show host pretended to be asleep and then said the song was too slow and boring.

Heathen Chemistry was released. I remember waking up in mid April my sophomore year of college in Tempe, Arizona. Full blown album leak. Three months early. Unheard of stuff. I had dial up Internet at the time. I setup the 11 song downloads, no zip files yet. Went to class and returned to rock out the album to mixed results. Shortly after I was on a flight to Vegas for Oasis at Hard Rock.

I think I haven't listened to this album in its entirety since 2008. Oh, I like The Cage by the way

I'll never forget where I was the first time I listened to "A Quick Peep". I will always be that guy raising his hand to say that actually it is a pefectly decent instrumental. And it's not like any instrumental makes or breaks an album anyway.

17 years ago today I was 24....the internet was becoming wildly popular, , home computers were becoming the norm, still waiting for that fad to pass. And, now everyone runs their mouth from the safety of their own homes.....
Also, Heathen Chemistry was released, love that album, great singles, a lot of filler....
Thanks.

I just think it's fine, but what I meant was just that "fine" is not a word I would use to describe many other songs on the album

Oh to be young again..........it seems like the last decade or so has flown by in an instant. Now I’m as old as Noel when he was making those records HC, DBTT, DOYS.

worst album of the lot imo, can't remember when I last listened to it. The production is just so muddy and clanky. Too many songs on this album that I simply forget about due to their low quality.
I love born on a different cloud but again I don't listen to it much because it sounds basically like a demo (the live version is great), Liam's vocal is incredibly rough. Specially compared to songs like stop crying your heart out. Coudlve been a lot better if it was released on an album like DOYS with a nicer production and better vocals.
HC is basically there for the singles imo, everything else (besides BOADC) is literally throwaway. Its more like a fleshed out EP.

Oh how I wish BOADC was around when SOTSOG was being made. It needed and deserved that level of production. Say what you will about Mark Stent but his music always sounds top notch. Never a fan of the HC recording. Like you said it has a demo feel. Rough vocals. Liam’s voice should always be made to shine.

Its almost like they forgot to record studio vocals for it so just ripped them straight off the demo version. Specially since his vocals are what you would expect on tunes like SCYHO, hindu times and song bird. His vocals simply take a tumble for BOADC.
BOADC is one of those tunes that I wish was around now so Liam could put it on a solo record with a hugely grand production and clean vocals. I just feel like that song has wasted potential on HC. Like you say, it likely wouldve shined on SOTSOG.

One of my top 3 albums, fantastic singles, great songs from Liam and one of my favorite Oasis songs ever The Hindu Times is on it. That song is what made me fall in love with Oasis, I was in not the best mindset in high school when I discovered it, but it made me feel like everything was going to be okay and it has been since then.
