ZAGREB, Croatia (Reuters) -- Davor Suker, one of the biggest names in Croatian football, has been questioned for more than three hours by police after his business partner was shot dead at the weekend. A Zagreb police spokesman confirmed media reports that Suker -- the Golden Boot winner at the 1998 World Cup in France -- was interviewed on Monday, following the mafia-style execution of Dino Pokrovac. Pokrovac was outside his home in Zagreb when he was shot dead around 0300 local time on Saturday. Suker and Pokrovac had jointly worked as soccer agents involved in transactions of players. "The police investigation has so far included more than 200 people, many of them from the world of sport," the spokesman said, declining to give any more details. Pokrovac was killed a year after his car was blown up. Local media said he was also a money-lender and had dozens of debtors in the former Yugoslav republic. The police have so far given no indication of the possible motives for the murder, which has rocked Croatia's football scene. "Everyone who has had any contact with Pokrovac will sooner or later be interrogated," another police official was quoted as saying in Jutarnji List daily newspaper. National soccer coach Zlatko Kranjcar told the daily he also expected to be summoned by police. Pokrovac's soccer management agency dealt with his son Niko's transfer to Hajduk Split from Dinamo Zagreb earlier this year. Despite police efforts, a number of mafia-style killings on the streets of Zagreb have gone unresolved in the past decade. edition.cnn.com/2005/SPORT/football/06/14/croatia.suker.reut/
