I don't think he started to really hate on him until the lawsuits and back and forth in the media after his dismissal from the band.
Before that, Noel didn't care for his lack of drumming skill.
Which is understandable... pretty much everyone agrees that what made Morning Glory was the FANTASTIC drumming of Alan. Drumming that most can't see Tony pulling off.

Noel seemed to have a problem with him in the early days though, Tony reckons he stood up to him a lot. Perhaps a clash of personalities.

According to Tony's book, Noel subjected him to an endless campaign of bullying from signing with Creation to him leaving the band. Which Noel more-or-less admits to in Supersonic.

Every single word, every word, of this is just misguided and wrong. I'm not trying to start anything but it would be best to have some idea of what went on and what is "understandable" or what "pretty much EVERYONE agrees" on. |

Noel said recently that he disliked the drummer as soon as he joined oasis. Noel was just an asshole over his drumming skill and rather than approach the situation like an adult, he just essentially bullied him out the band.
Even in the years after he left, Noel continued to take shots over tony when talking about the early years. For whatever reason, Noel seems to take personal issue with him. Hes always been a dick when it comes to tony.
Don't think Ive ever heard Noel speak one positive word about him. Maybe they simply didnt like eachother and Noel just used his drumming ability as stick to beat him with.

its pretty clear that Noel has heavily criticised tony over his drumming ability on more than one occassion. Whether that is the route cause for his dislike is not known by me or you because we don't know their relationship.

For me it was nothing to do with his drumming, Noel just didn't like him and wanted him out.

Errrrm I thought the whole point of getting someone new in would be checking they’re a better drummer, which he was obviously he also made a point about sardy on HFB 1 when sardy wanted to redo the drums, in his words "who gives a fuck about drums"........well you clearly give enough of a fuck to bully a man over it. imo he likely simply wanted him out due to not liking him and it just so happened that tony's drumming ability wasnt quite clicking as well so he had a reason to push him out. |

No doubt Tony said alot more than Noel liked and that was a major part of it. The fact he couldn't always get the drumming right was always going to be a huge issue of course, but i reckon he'd have probably allowed him to develop if he liked him.
Noel himself has admitted he wouldn't disagree with what Tony has said on it all so I have no reason to not believe his version of events over Noel. He comes across very genuine on it all, even if hes bitter.
