I don’t hide I prefer Noel’s albums and Live gigs to Liam’s, I’ve seen Liam twice and it’s a good night but like most I speak to or overhear after the gig just can’t shake that feeling that without Noel’s songs it’s a dead gig, imagine a whole set of just BE or AYW. Just seems off in some way. Still good time tho of course. Imagine a NG gig with no Oasis songs. same thing

I’d never heard of Capaldi until Noel mentioned his name tbh, still no idea what his music sounds like or genre..?! It's not my cup of tea. Just have a search of it because it's hard to describe. He's a funny fella though. Fair play to him.

Can people stop saying it's Noel/Sara's fault OR it's Liam's fault. Just leave it fucking be and talk about the gig.

Liam's definitely put on weight since the last tour. He's not fat. I hope I look that size when I'm 46. But compared to this time two years ago he doesn't look as in good shape. That's not having a go. But no need for people to keep saying 'it might be because of his illness', ffs. The bloke likes a beer, he's 46, that's it. He's also not had as much free time as he seemingly had prior to 2017 and he's also been on tour for the majority of the time since then. That's it.

The River sounds great live. Andrew Wyatt looked like he was enjoying that.

He's an absolutely hilarious fella, I like him a lot, but his music is really nondescript. Aye, agree. But fair play to him. He's absolutely killing it over here atm and he's gonna be massive in the States I bet too. Personality helps.

Just got offsite, checking in to say the highlights for me were Columbia and The River. Bold was a dog’s breakfast, I’ve no clue why they went for that arrangement when they had the brass boys and Liz right there and didn’t use them. Bold and Universal Gleam definitely lost what little interest was there from the crowd, I understand why he wanted to include them; he wrote them and it also gives him a bit of a break physically before he ups the tempo again.
I’ll be interested to read your take on the tv coverage later.
2 gigs in a week and now nothing until November 😕

Checked him out after his little thing with Noel (or vice versa) and found at least one song of his I really like! And I found out he is actually related to Peter Capaldi! Nice!
Anyway, I enjoyed that gig! Liam's, that is, not Capaldi's.

Shockwave and The River both sounded brilliant live tonight, much better then anything from AYW. (Greedy Soul best of them for me). Bodes well for the new album tour.

Only caught it up until Slide Away. Shockwave sounded great and the band were good too.
Reading the comments here suggests watching the latter parts, aside from The River is gonna be a bit painful.
But then again, I like UG and it sounds like RWI went down well too.
I think the drummer is not at it anymore. Seems like a nice guy but as a drummer, I can see he does some basic things badly and it's starting to show now.
Liam seemed his more usual 'angry' onstage persona today whereas in 2017 he seemed like he was genuinely thrilled he was being asked to play there.
Fucking terrible shirt/jacket too.

Few things for me:
1) He's opened with the same 6-7 songs at every single gig for the last 2 years, but constantly rotates the list of classics he plays after that. He really needs to shake up the first half of the setlist, it feels a bit like we're just going through the motions waiting for the hits to start. He's got loads of high tempo songs to open with, and it's not as if Oasis opened with RNRS every time either - DOYS was the only tour they opened with it iirc. It actually worked better as a closer on the DBTT tour.
2) Bold and Universal Gleam were disastrous and should be nowhere near the setlist, but Shockwave/Columbia/Slide Away were fantastic.
3) The stripped back Champagne Supernova version sounded good, but the full version is miles better. I don't know why he closes with these stripped back songs? It's the same for Live Forever.
Overall not a bad gig but not brilliant either.

I’ll try to find out why Cast No Shadow was abandoned.

Yeah 'Shockwave' sounds noticeably better live. 'The River' was pretty good too. I'd drop 'Universal Gleam' for 'Come Back To Me'.

Nah, Liam performed very good on every song, except for Bold where he fucked up a bit. And since Bold the band started messing up from time to time. The main issue was that the combination of that weird version of Bold and Universal Gleam (although performed well) really took away the momentum of the gig that was definitely build after Shockwave-Columbia-Slide Away-Roll With it (this part was really epic, both from Liam as the band)

Imagine a NG gig with no Oasis songs. same thing Not really the point I’m making, Noel wrote the Oasis songs (the best ones), so he has a right to sing them, just seems odd Liam singing them at times for solo gig. Noel may have wrote the songs but Liam made them famous
