Seems like the ”Shockwave” video is not getting that many views. I think ”Shockwave” will not be as popular as ”Wall of Glass”. But even if it will be, a crap video that doesn’t make any sense gets less popular than otherwise.
I hope the video for ”One of us” is much better.
Hopefully Liam will also release e.g. ”Once” for a John Lewis commercial, and also release it as a single and make a video for it that actually makes sense. Maybe he could even use old footage of him and Noel as kids, or something similar. Something meaningful and touching. Not just Liam walking around in a sponsored Stone Island parka. I hope he’ll add something new, at least. The ”Shockwave” video is useless.
Do you agree?
EDIT: My point is that with a better video, maybe Liam can attract new fans.

tbf, I would never expect shockwave to gain the same attention as wall of glass because that song had the benefit of being the first song back after a hiatus. Plus they took nearly a week after release to drop the video the initial hype has already worn off abit.

You're giving way to much importance to a music video. He's a 46 year old man who is probably going to have a top 20 single, he ain't doing bad at all. Don't worry about views.

Yeah, I do, to be honest. People are probably gonna give it the old "only the chooooooonnnn matters!" but that's, y'know, not true. Childish Gambino was a massive star in 2018 basically off the strength of his videos. Giving your song visuals that add to the meaning or make it look cool or just make people want to watch/listen again is important when songs get multiple billion views on YouTube. Obviously Liam will never reach that, but still, a strong video can undoubtedly help. Wall of Glass was perfect. Simple premise, great execution, made me want to watch a few times and share with the people I know. Shockwave is just...I don't know. Not very hype.
That's how you do a video with a burning house.

With a touching and interesting video that is telling a story related to the actual lyrics, and possibly some collaboration with John Lewis, I think ”Once” could be a hit that would be getting far more than 10 million views. Liam should start trying to get 50+ million views for some of the more commercial songs.

Liam is never ever going to get anywhere near them numbers so I wouldn't even bother thinking about it.

Because he is a middle aged bloke and the sort of music he makes isn't going to blow up. He's doing really really well at the moment, I never expected his solo career to do this well. Proper chuffed for him. I think you're being unrealistic. If he managed to get a John Lewis advert or something then yes but I highly doubt that will happen.

I agree. I love a good music video. Some of the Oasis videos are iconic.

Never bothered about the music (promo) video to be honest. If song is good, it's more than enough for me.
I haven't watched Shockwave video yet, but I don't see why some people have to have a big deal of it.

Middle aged man has top 20 guitar song in 2019 and some people in here are telling him he needs to do better videos?
1- he seems to be doing fine numbers wise if the song charts as expected.
2- you are aware that John Lewis is a failing department store and not the leading creative agency of all things creative?

Who cares about music videos these days? The original poster has been throwing his dogshit opinion into as many threads as possible (I read two before my brain wanted stabbed)

Nice to have interesting videos, but ultimately it's the song not the video thats gonna sell it to people.

But if he can get 14 million views, I cannot see why he wouldn't be able to get 50 with a really, really good video. Especially if a fairly well-known company used the song in a commercial. I think this might be one way to win new fans.

It really is not worth worrying about. Liam is never ever going to get anywhere near them numbers so I wouldn't even bother thinking about it. Why not? I don’t see many arguments. its unlikely, the one love live forever performance is sat at around 18 million views with the dont look back in anger chris martin video around 26 million.
Its very doubtful that a Liam solo single could double those numbers. Its always possible of course, just unlikely.
I personally think it will be lucky if Liam can get the same levels of views on his songs compared to as you were tbh. Shockwave is certainly a long way off wall of glass which hasnt even racked up a million between the audio and official video.
thats a very long way off an idea of 50 million views.

...The ”Shockwave” video is useless... It’s not useless, it’s a little more than ok and it served it’s purpose. It’s just a music vid. Is all. Relax.

Maybe you are right. But to me it seems like Warner aims to play it safe and primarily cares about keeping the same old fans, just to ensure that Liam can sell out another UK tour. They don't seem to care at all about expanding the fan base. Which is a bit weird, considering that Liam's crowd seems to be much younger than the crowd at Oasis concerts, and considering that many of the softer songs such as ''Once'' could reach a broader audience if given the opportunity.

I haven't watched Shockwave video yet, but I don't see why some people have to have a big deal of it. This is about making Liam's music more popular, not about what's ''enough'' for you or for me. We will listen to Liam's music even if the music video was about Liam walking around in a Stone Island parka making pistol signs with his hands... oh, wait... By the way, are you the person who calls/views herself as ''bootleg queen'', but still got annoyed when I asked if someone could record LG's debut concert a week ago or so? If so, next time you write a post, I guess you might use your brain first. You seem like a retarded person. Everyone’s entitled to an opinion about songs and videos but now you’re just being an ass

all music videos are nonsense! the golden age was the 90s
maybe it'd be best if he releases the music video before the song is out, so the novelty is there and it will attract more views. the song is out, I have it on spotify, on my phone, on the radio, whatever. I don't need to see the video more than once, even if it's a fantastic piece of storytelling
