For me it was Be Here Now. I had gotten into Oasis when I was 7 and Be Here Now was was set to come out a month before my 9th birthday.
I remember the main rock radio station here was going to debut DYWIM one night at 10 pm, well past my bed time. I hid under my blankets and listened on my flashlight radio. I remember watching the afternoon kids shows on a popular station and the host between shows talked about DYKWIM and held up the CD single and mentioned how cool they looked.
Then the day it came out, I remember being driven to the store to buy the CD and I was literally filled with anticipation. The album did not disappoint. I could feel the hype and now watching youtube videos of people lined up outside of stores to buy it etc, I can tell the hype was massive. Fun times, even for being so young.
I was excited for SOTSOG but 11 year old me wasn't mature enough for the album. FITB I was like ummmm and I only really liked GLIO and RIO. That kind of turned me off Oasis for a few years. Their loss in popularity and a stupid teenage phase caused me to miss the release cycles of HC and DBTT. I remember hearing The Hindu Times and Lyla and being like cool but otherwise I didn't have much interest.
Then, like the story of Liam being hit in the head with a hammer, one day 18 year old me had an epiphany and decided it was time to get back into them. So with that and internet forums with their rumours now being a thing, I was massively hyped for DOYS which came out when I was 20. I remember the day it leaked. I loved it. Fun times.
So long story short, it was BHN followed by DOYS for me.
(Also, I'm guessing DM won't get many votes because its tougher to anticipate a debut album, but if there are people out there who heard Supersonic and saw them at some small gig before DM came out and were really excited, that would be awesome).

Not even close. It was Be Here Now. Morning Glory was their apex mountain and peak of their fame. Nobody and I mean nobody thought the golden age would end.

While I did get BHN for Xmas 1997 - which was the first album I ever owned - the DBTT era was the most exciting. DBTT was released in late Spring of 2005. The world was much different then - a deeply hated Republican, who didn’t even win the popular vote in his first election held power in the US. All kidding aside, penultimate year of high school ending, nice weather, found this forum, the Lyla leak from the Polish Radio, globe being a dick even back then, etc etc

I didn’t get into Oasis until just after SOTSOG came out so after over two years of waiting HC was the Holy Grail...... little did I know it’d be the Holy Fail!!!
My god was I disappointed!!

DOYS. Got into Oasis late 2005 when I was about 13 I think, I spent a lot of time picking through my dads cd collection until I happened across DBTT which I loved, he didn't have anything else of theirs though, even DBTT was a bootleg he got in a bundle from some guy Then I got Stop The Clocks and became an obsessive. Spent most evenings after school watching the gigs on youtube and downloading rarities from limewire. I even spent countless hours downloading virus ridden files and trawling through dodgy websites looking for the mustique demos and the DIV DBTT sessions because I needed more Oasis, didn't understand how the internet worked at the time and thought that they must be out there somewhere! So by about 2007 I'd heard pretty much everything they've ever done, every song, demo, cover, rarity, most gigs etc and was ravenously hungry for more, so when DOYS was announced and that short preview of TSOTL appeared in the trailer I got more hyped than I'd ever been before or since for anything, was literally counting down the days until it was released or leaked. Instantly loved the album when it came out, even the second half. I still don't think I can review that album objectively because I probably hear it from a different perspective to most other people, had it on pretty much endless repeat for months, from about age 14 to 17 I only listened to Oasis, I thought it was the only music I would ever need, so this album arrived at exactly the right time in my life. As times gone by I've still been somewhat hyped for each release, although that's been waning, probably because I'm older my taste in music is much more expansive, so that'll always remain the most exciting release for me. WMWN could start getting 10/10 reviews and start getting hyped up as the best Gallagher album since MG and I still wouldn't be remotely as hyped for it as I was at the time for DOYS.

I got into Oasis around 98, so I missed the first three. I have a vivid memory of being dropped off in town by my Dad and excitedly sprinting to the CD store to pick up HC. It had already leaked but I was still unable to walk like a normal person.
Don't feel like that for any release these days.

HC. guess it was a combination of leakin becomin a phenomena + exitment bout Gem & Andy first being in the studio. remember "Hindu Times" and "Hung in a bad place" super lofi live versions circulating at the times - couldnt stop listening to 'em. no-one would admit this today, but when it finally came out fans were saying stuff like "almost every track is Single material" and "BOADC is the new Champagne Supernova". Today ofcourse, we know it a piece of crap, but SCYHO is still IMO Noels last Classic

Don't Believer The Truth
First Oasis release after I got into them in 2004. Loved every moments before/around/after the release from the moment we heard Lyla on a Polish radio for the first time in early 2005. Saw the lads twice in that year. Didn't see they would end up 4,5 years later.

I got into them during the HC era I and started getting into forums shortly before the DBTT release (I remember the Lyla polish radio too). But even if I loved (and still do to this day) that album, I was way more hyped with DOYS. In fact it was a bit before that, I started to get hyped with the rumours about a future release of an EP between DBTT and DOYS called "Boy with the blues".
I remember the rumours, fake song titles, the first reviews, the "within you without you" cover, pictures of the band in the studio with Kasabian, the greek guy who broke into Abbey Road because he thought Noel was stealing his ideas.
They released it on october 6 (my birthday), and I first listened to it on vinyl from bed with my girlfriend. I avoided leaks until that moment, and it was awesome. She still listens to Oasis but as much as she used to, so it was really special to share that moment with her while we were both hardcore fans.
Even if it's not their best album, it's still a very good one and will always be special to me.

That was also pretty amazing. And all the titles at the time. Freaky Teeth Show Me Your Love The Roller Evil Eye Let It Come Down Over Me The Magic Can't be Right There were many more on this list, but we thought they were mostly all fake, especially Freaky Teeth. Very exciting times.

Very exciting times. Oh the Magic Can’t Be Right is definitely real. He mentioned it many many times during interviews for HC in late 2002. Freaky Teeth also was always a real title because until Noel first mentioned it in an interview we didn’t even know it existed.

One of, if not the, best nights ever on this forum. And then DOYS ended up with the worst of the three on it! Wtf typical Noel move lol.

That would have been a terrific thank you towards the fans after a very positive and well received tour. Noel said multiple times on that tour Oasis had over 40 songs for DBTT. We heard a fraction. Now was the time to clean out the closet. Something like this would have been nice....... Lord Don’t Slow Me Down Stop The Clocks Let It Come Down Over Me Record Machine Boy With The Blues

As hard as it is for us to accept at times, they don't (and especially then) didnt care about the fans. Noel was always gonna keep as many songs back for the solo album.

Either DBTT or DOYS, by some distance.
I first got into Oasis after Morning Glory when I was 7 or 8 (basically copying off my older cousin), so I remember the Be Here Now hype and buying that and the DYKWIM single, but too young to really appreciate the significance of it. I lost interest after that until Heathen Chemistry and 're-discovered' Oasis (I already had Definitely Maybe but didn't really listen to it when I was younger), so the SOTSOG era completely passed me by.
After the ill-received Glastonbury 2004 performance there were strong rumours that Oasis were splitting up, as Liam's voice was shot and the Death In Vegas DBTT sessions had been aborted. I remember getting tickets for the Etihad gigs and the likes of NME branding them as their last ever gigs, so the run-up to DBTT will always be a bit special. It was released on my birthday, so I stupidly decided I'd avoid all leaks so that the first time I listened was when I physically had the CD, however Amazon or whoever it was ordered from didn't dispatch it until after the release date and then it got lost in the post, so I didn't listen to it until about a week after it had been released.
With DOYS I wasn't actually that arsed about the album, but new album meant new tour which I was ridiculously excited for. The build up on here was brilliant.
I remember being really excited for DGSS as well, but it seems very different these days. Probably because we're getting new music more or less every other year now from both Gallagher's, so as soon as the hype dies down for one, it starts again for the other.

Dig Out Your Soul sounded great when they were talking about it. Seemed like they were going to put out some really psychedelic experimental album that they threw the kitchen sink at......It turned out to be absolutely awful and dull, which going by their previous couple of albums should’ve been obvious.
Heathen Chemistry was exciting at the time because it was the first album I was probably old enough to go buy and go to a gig. In hindsight the album is crap but was still a decent soundtrack of the summer at the time with the World Cup on and going to see them live. Fond memories.
I was never excited by DBTT, it was bang in the middle of the mid 2000s when bands were everywhere again and making much more exciting and more refreshing music than Oasis. DBTT just seemed really old hat with really obvious attempts to sound like certain old bands. It just seemed out of touch and a band over the hill and dated, which they were..

I think my favorite part of Oasis post 1998 was how Noel always over hyped albums sending me into a frenzy of excitement and looking for album updates daily. They never matched my imagination or his bold claims. Good tunes here and there but never completed albums and it always broke my heart.

Noel will always without fail say that his best albums are Definitely Maybe and whatever he's doing at the moment.
