Now this is a tune!!!!!!!!!!! sounds very authentic with LG’S delivery. Can’t wait to hear this on the Album 🙌🏻 Your choice of words is key: authentic. I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s just something more personal or real about how he sings this. He genuinely sounds plaintive and hopeful at the same time.

Sounds a bit good doesn't it? Was credited to just Liam at the end of the film so I guess he wrote this one. clyp.it/tpekyjlh - I believe this is the demo but could just be the start of the song which then goes in to a more full sound. clyp.it/gnruiqdq - The fuller produced version. I think Once has the potential to beat Wonderwall as the top hit in the US that Liam's sung.

This is a very lennonesque tune which I even going back to BOADC and Im Outta Time would wince at, and don't get me started on BE, but this gave me goosebumps. I have no idea why either. Maybe it's just because Liam sounds really good on it. Shockwave to me is Oasis/Liam by numbers--totally generic, but also quite an earworm. This one sounds special to me and I can't understand it. The answer is probably melody and lyrics, but I'm just so pleasantly surprised. It reminds me of the first time i heard Stop Crying Your Heart Out. I also can’t exactly pinpoint why this 1:27 clip of the song has impacted me so much. It’s truely blown my mind I can’t wait to hear the whole thing

For me, this does sound like it could be a special song.
Similar to FWIW, when Liam does his final 'for what it's woooooorth', where it sounds like a really emotional plea, the final 'you only get to do it ooooooonce' gets me here too.

Hot take: I don't like Lîam's voice in the studio in present day, they're awkward and cheesy to me....I prefer his live vocals, raw and sensual.
'Once' sounds awful to me....
Thanks.

The song will be a special one, maybe even life changing

I am probably wrong but I think the cleaning pool reference which people are criticizing refers to their childhood. I can't find any thing online but vaguely remember one of them saying he had a job cleaning pools before oasis.

Wonderwall is an all timer and unless you were in America in the mid 90s it’s hard to understand how huge that song was (same for England). It was on mtv and vh1 everyday. You couldn’t put on the car radio without hearing it once on your drive. Soccer moms were even buying MG. Massive massive song from a young and hungry band. Liam only 23. He’s now almost 50. Nobody that old is making a dent culturally in America via music. For a very brief time Oasis ruled both sides of the Atlantic. As Noel said at Hammerstein ballroom in 1997........”Here is the one that bought the cars and houses” (launches into Wonderwall).

I haven't even heard Once yet, but few songs reach the heights of universal acceptance as Wonderwall. For example: this is Spotify plays for ALL songs released in the 90's...

That truly is a staggering number(s) for songs over 20 years old. Obviously many of those songs were played millions of times the 20 years prior to Spotify. It makes me happy Oasis is still getting consumed by the masses. Seems funny that we judged success by how many times mtv or the radio would play wonderwall. Felt like. Huge victory if it was 8-10 video plays a day on mtv. That is so so small compared to thousands and thousands played daily on Spotify. I’m also realizing that Noel doesn’t give a shit if his solo music sells by the bucket loads. He’s always got Spotify streams sending him paychecks. He’s playing with house money now.

Wonderwall is the 7th most played track released prior to 2010. Only one track from the 80's has been streamed more (Don't Stop Believing). It is astounding how Wonderwall still performs around the world.

This all begs the question: why couldn’t it be me that wrote Wonderwall rather than Noel Gallagher?

Spotify paychecks doesnt cover his lifestyle. He already complained about spotify paychecks in one interview, saying that was so low. A concert in manchester or london probably give him years of spotify paychecks.

Happens every time a new Gallagher/Oasis record is on its way...I listen to some leaked, lo-fi version of an awesome song for MONTHS, and then when the polished album version comes out, it sounds almost foreign to me and I have to re-adjust.
