http://instagram.com/p/Bw_k9jKl-yF Noel Gallagher was interviewed on Rai Radio 2 in Rome yesterday. The show will air tonight from 12.30am Italian time (https://www.raiplayradio.it/radio2) and will be available on podcast here www.raiplayradio.it/programmi/rockandrollcircusSome of Noel's words are here www.musicalnews.com/articolo.php?codice=39784&sz=6Here's a translation. 'My new single Black Star Dancing and the other songs which are completed show the direction my next record will take, that is drum machine, a lot of bass and no guitars.' 'Until a couple of years ago I used to gibe an interview a day and it seemed so cool to be always on the papers and on the magazines, then I gave up because I got bored and I must say my life has definitely improved.'

Let's hope he's referring to the Black Star Dancing EP and not the next album. *Stares into the void*

Well, we already know the no guitar thing is an exaggeration.
But I'm down for it all!

Yeah he has a tendency to exaggerate. Can't see a live show where Noel does not have a guitar in hand.

But...Black Star Dancing has a guitar solo. And it's the worst bit.

But...Black Star Dancing has a guitar solo. And it's the worst bit. It sounds a bit like ZZ Top's Legs solo, si parva licet (I hope that's not blasphemy ). I wouldn't say it's the worst bit. I just wish it was longer. It's too damn short.

But...Black Star Dancing has a guitar solo. And it's the worst bit. I like the guitar solo. But would be fun to see Noel onstage wihout a guitar....

I think it's a killer solo, definitely one of the highlights of the tune.
But I'm curious about the "next album". Will there be the 3 EP's and then a new album? Will it be the one with Holmes or other? Hell, he'll never stop touring (which is good), but Im really worried about this lack of guitars, even if Noel exaggerates....

I think so far the only song without guitar was "To be where there's life", but they used guitars to play it live.

As far as Noël, I don't expect too much from a 50 year old artist, who's best days were years ago; anything Líam and Noél do at this point is just icing on the cake... Thanks.

Very short interview. Nothing really new apart from these lines that follow.
“The single that is coming out tomorrow and the one that is coming out after that I’d like to sound like that, which is more drum machines, more about the bass, no guitars.”
“David (Holmes) is working on Killing Eve, which has become so successful. I didn’t want to wait, so I’m doing the album myself this time. We could work together again.”
The show will be available on podcast.
