To state a position, I’m team NG.
I just found a thing for his live after Oasis, he used Capo for plenty of songs and use open chord very much, do you guys think he is lazy now?
Ps. All of his live sound brilliant, I just confused this part.

Yes he's lazy, but Tim Smith also talked about this in an interview and said that Noel likes to create a layered sound by having the two guitars using capos in different places.

Noel was never the one who played the barred chords anyhow.
That was Bonehead at Noel's behest.
As the previous comment stated, the layered sounds was the goal here.

If Noel's hand is like mine, then he's doing this in part because he can't play barred chords for too long. My hand becomes unbearably sore if I play barred chords for more than 20 seconds at a time. So given I play a lot of his songs, I love the new arrangements He also likes to move up the key for some songs for which a capo is obviously needed. Go Let It Out for example.

Probably finds it easier to play and sing at the same time as well.

He's always been lazy.
But the fact Oasis' early sound was so massive was because Bonehead played barre chords as rhythm, allowing Noel to go with open chords (in the main).
He still does use them, mind, just in certain songs.
Capos are the easy fix for him and given he's gone a bit 'countryish' with a lot of his versions of Oasis songs in the last 5 years or so, they work well (DLBIA, Go Let It Out etc)

tbf, this is the bloke that wrote All Around The World... For any novice guitarists, learn that song as the first one for consistent barre chords throughout. Once you can play that, you can play any of em

I used to hate playing them. In the last 3-4 months I've cracked it and now play barre chords loads (and I only have an acoustic). The one switch I have never been able to get down is D to Bm. I have no idea why. I've just never been able to do it. So my version of Some Might Say has to be amended slightly

I think I heard Gem say that because he has abnormal thumbs, he doesnt really play barre chords either. Might be making that up.

So my version of Some Might Say has to be amended slightly Suggestion: do D like this xx023x (or xx0230) with your index finger on the 3rd string and your middle finger on the 2nd string. Switching to Bm will be much easier.

From what I can remember: -Broken Arrow: Noel capo 9th, Tim capo 2nd -Riverman: Noel capo 8th, Tim capo 1st -You Know We Can't Go Back: Noel capo 6th, Tim capo 4th -She Taught Me How to Fly: Noel no capo, Gem capo 3rd And with Oasis: -Up In The Sky: Noel no capo, Bonehead capo 3rd -A Bell Will Ring: Noel capo 2nd, Gem no capo with his guitar tuned a half step down

he is just a lazy mofo. he capos every song to death, so he can use the same chords (relative to the capo) in every song. even the songs he used to play with open chords when he still was in oasis. it's ridiculous. all he plays is G, Em, D(sus), A(sus) and all kinds of variations of it. very rarely you see him play anything else nowadays (i think in lock all the doors he plays a Bm barre!!!! he probably couldn't find a way of doing it differently, moving the capo up and down in desperation...)

I think he could play it with the capo on the 5th and avoid the Bm shape and I've wondered why he didn't do it.

Given his current trajectory, I'm more concerned Noel will forget how to use the guitar entirely...

Can't wait for his album with only him + a piano.

You just don't really need to use them to put together brilliant songs/melodies.
It's so snobby that people get uppity about it really.

The word's been thrown around since the OP but I fail to see how using a capo makes him lazy. A G chord with a capo on the third fret is still an A chord just played differently... how is a barred chord better or superior? noel is one of the most successful novice guitarists in history, lbr here If Noel's hand is like mine, then he's doing this in part because he can't play barred chords for too long. I've thought of buying them hand excercise thingimijigs though...
