TBWTL was pretty good live. ABWR is boring and should have been replaced with Eyeball tickler, or you know a song written by Noel

ABWR has significant sentimental value because summer ‘05 was such a brilliant time to be an Oasis fan.
TBWTL is probably the better song overall - both versions have their charms, I know people seem to prefer the live arrangement, but the studio one has a ton of power given how simple it is. Liam’s voice, drone, bass, drums. Job done.

The album cut of TBWTL is sadly lacking compared to the live versions. Not that I like it all that much anyway. The very essence of style over substance to me.
Gonna go with ABWR here.

TBWTL, easy.
ABWR is cringey and boring as fuck. No thanks.

Another terrible reminder of how Gem cannot write a song to save himself.

Another terrible reminder of how Gem cannot write a song to save himself. Off At The Next Exit would have something to say about that.

'To Be Where There's Life' is flat out good. Great bass line. Sounds good live too. I like the extra emphasis on the rhythm section in the Richard Fearless remix but I do miss that toy sitar! Unfortunately TBWTL never reached its full potential. It should have been much more psychedelic and powerful.
'A Bell Will Ring' is just okay. It's not a shameful effort by any stretch and would have made a decent enough b-side for that era.

In the nicest possible way, both would have been firmly rejected 1994-1997.

To Be Where There's Life, love that tune. Might even be my second-favourite on DOYS, after Falling Down.
Can barely remember a thing about A Bell Will Ring.

In the nicest possible way, both would have been firmly rejected 1994-1997. Gem wouldn't have even brought them forward to be rejected in the mid-90's.
