Wasn't there an interview with the director from Supersonic who said they got stuff from Tim Abbott? I also have a vague memory of either Liam or Noel moaning about being filmed by him? So I'd guess the clip of Liam recording Champagne Supernova comes from him too. He must have a load of Morning Glory recording footage. Am I right or have I made that up? You are correct. He made a bunch of home video recordings. The clips of the band recording WTSMG in Supersonic are from Tim Abbott. I also believe the clips of the band before the top of the pops are his as well.

I'd wish they put some artwork on this and release it for RSD.

Just imagine a documentary about Morning Glory with this sort of footage included. Surprised they haven't made a Classic Albums one yet. 25th Anniversary next year? You pray... Or the eight hour cut of Supersonic. Or an anthology. Or...

Lest we forget Lord Don't Slow Me Down... I actually don’t think Liam sounds good on that song. And I also feel Noel sings Step Out better. Sure it’s exciting to get these alternate takes with Liam, always cool to hear such things and have in the collection but I think Oasis got the right singer for both songs. Granted each of them are just ok tunes to begin with.

Right at the top of his range, but he just about makes it. Definitely think they should’ve used Liam’s vox over Noel’s.
While Liam still sounded like this Noel should’ve got Don’t Look Back in Anger, The Masterplan, and those melancholic B-sides (Talk Tonight, Going Nowhere, etc.) to sing, and nothing else.
Hindsight’s a wonderful thing, though.

This voice is why so many people love Oasis.
I prefer Liam signing anything over Noel - always have done.
Fuck you, Noel.

Great as this is, if Noel hadn't sung it on the record we wouldn't have had those excellent live versions of it in '00/'01.

I always said that Liam should have sung every song, and this just backs up that belief. My thought exactly! Hope more recordings like this with Liam on vocals will see the light of day.

Holy fucking Hell!
Never knew there was a Liam recording of Oasis’ Step Out!!
Those vocals, wow. Liam Gallagher is easily the best frontman of his generation.
I really do wonder about all the hidden gems that are in the Oasis vault.

I know it isn't spot on but vocals are a bit too high - not enough balance. I'll try it myself.

Those Live Forever and Digsy's Dinner falsettos...
I love the 1998-2000 vocals the best though - perfect grit and still could hit the notes.

What the fuck was Noel playing at not releasing that version? Can you hear what I can hear? It's the sound of a narcissistic prick.

Parts are amazing but he goes a bit out of tune trying to hold those long higher notes. It would probably have torn his voice to shreds live/on tour, hence Noel’s logical choice to sing it himself
