On my short 15-minute drive home from work yesterday they mentioned this tour no less than three times! Also, gave out a pair of tickets. That's three more mentions of Noel than I've heard in 6 years of living here. Clearly this set up will be nothing but good for Noel's profile stateside. Not saying he's gonna become a thing, but it's great for him all the same. Better than touring with Snow Patrol and Jake Bug!

I caught that tour and Snow Patrol had serious audio issues early on, so we bolted. Jake Bugg was refreshingly good though.

Bought a lawn ticket for Cleveland. Wasn't about to spend $140+ for a close seat when I hate AFI and the Pumpkins. It still morphed from $26 into $51 with fees, so there's that. Either way, always excited to see The Chief!

Agreed, the SP from the early days to 98 (i include Adore) are pretty amazing. The new one is also a good return. I ride or die for Adore. Been a huge fan of it since 1998. Totally misunderstood record that was way way ahead of its time. If it dropped today it would still sound contemporary. Fantastic production top to bottom. Me too, i thought it was really underrated at the time. It was ambitious, and a real risk. Most of their "fans" never recovered

Who's in the Smashing Pumpkins now?
I know the drummer and another member were kicked out of the band for drug use, then the drummer came back...? I think the female bassist and Billy were fighting at one point....?
Casual fan here, had Mellon Collie, Siamese Cat, Adore.....lost track of them, another band which reminds me of my youth.
Thanks.

The original drummer, Corgan and James Iha came back. So three out of four original members. D'arcy, the bassist, did not come back for various reasons. Jeff Schroeder is in too, but as guitarist, the bassist is only a touring member.

Got pretty good seats at the regular price after waiting it out a bit. For once it's on a Saturday night instead of like Tuesday or whatever.

Paid too much but got front row for Toronto! Now trying to grab a pair for Detroit, nothing good at face value though yet.

Crazy thing is I didn't even know about these shows until I opened my email this morning!! Guess it pays to be on the mailing list. The Pumpkins have been on my list for awhile, so it will be good to finally see them as well. Of course I wish Noel was headlining, but it will still be a great take regardless.

See you guys at Jones Beach! As others have said, I dramatically overpaid to see 60 minutes of NG, but I promised myself I would never let money get between me and a Gallagher-related NY concert.
Does anyone else who's ever been to Jones Beach know how I might go about getting Noel to sign an album? I've never seen the tour buses there...

Does anyone else who's ever been to Jones Beach know how I might go about getting Noel to sign an album? I've never seen the tour buses there... When Noel was doing his own theater gigs the past couple of years, you could line up right as his bus rolled in and he sometimes would come right off the bus and down the line to sign stuff. These open amphitheater gigs are going to be tough because I'm sure there's a huge backstage lot for the buses to roll into nowhere near where the audience is allowed to access. Good luck though!

Very interesting how many people don't like Smashing Pumpkins, whose heights--artistically--blows away almost every single one of their contemporaries. Plus, they're from Chicago so Im basically at the eye of the storm haha. Billy wrote so many alt rock anthems in such a short amount of time. He really does mirror Noel. He’s like the USA Noel of that era. So many bangers. Rhinoceros Drown Cherub Rock Today Disarm Tonight Tonight Zero Bullet With Butterfly Wings Thirty-Three 1979 Eye The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning Ava Adore Perfect And that just covers 1991-1998. i second what this dude said.
