I listen to a lot of Damien Rice and his lyrics and melody might seem depressing to some people but I love it and it makes me happy I wouldn't go and listen to some shit like Aqua's Barbie Girl because it sounds "happy"

Exactly!
If you look at my favourite bands/music (The Smiths, The Twilight Sad, Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Kathryn Joseph, The Magnetic North, Out Lines etc), you might think I'm a depressive person, but I'm not. I'm a happy person actually.
Listening to so called "happy music" doesn't mean that you're happy and listening and loving "depressive" music doesn't mean that you're sad/depressive.
Just enjoy what you love. Music is free and boarder-less. Nobody can tell you what you have to love, but it's YOU!

Quite right, I f.ex. adore Joy Division and it makes me happy to listen and one of the most magic live moments I had was at a Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds concerts. Granted, "Closer" or some of the more melancholic Cave records need a certain mood, but in general?
Having said that, these 2 are songs that never fail to make me laugh.
That's another one that always makes me laugh, especially in this version, all the smiling and pretend side-eye.
Of course, those two great men allegedly being on good terms these days takes away the last sting that might lie beneath this jokey look at their relationship.

themasterplanet: A Northern Soul by The Verve! My second favourite album by them. I love the atmosphere of it, it’s very dreamy and melancholic and dark. It holds many memories for me and I think that’s partly responsible for why I love it so much.

AllOrNothing: Up in the Sky sounds like the La's on steroids, especially that Liam Falsetto that I can almost picture Lee Mavers singing with all his big teeth showing

Bring It On Dan: I have so much shit on an old hard drive somewhere but I just cannot find it. Nothing 'out there' but probably 200 gigs or so. I can't remember the name of the site that had all the gigs listed and sources for loads of gigs next to it? I remember RKID 003.

mimmihopps: Bring It On Dan, it must be sadsong.net. I don't know if the site still exists.
