I kind of do. Despite Liam singing the studio version, Noel has often performed it live.
People are going to tell me that the 1994 Jools Holland performance (Liam vox) is the best. But I’m not having that - while Liam sounded amazing, the rest of the band were still too raw for my liking in 1994.
It’s a damn shame there was a mid performance argument in Maine Road 1996 where Noel took over the vocals mid way because he thought Liam’s timing was off, because that performance would have been my vote if Liam was allowed to finish (I support Liam in this particular case, he sounded fine to me although the tempo was insanely fast).
Noel’s 2010 TCT performance is the best ever version of Whatever.
And the emotion in the Barrowlands performance is special as well.
Teenage Cancer Trust 2010: The best performance of Whatever. Noel is in his element here. Perfect -
Barrowlands 2001: The emotion and passion of the crowd, right through Octopus Garden, makes this moment so very special -
Maine Road 1996: The tempo is fast here, but Liam sounded fine in all honesty -
Jools Holland 1994: Everyone will say this is the best performance of Whatever, but the band sounds too raw for my liking, although Liam does sound good here -

I know there are other versions of this... but for now, enjoy the Portugal variant...

Liam sung it miles better than Noel. I get why people would associate it with Noel though - Liam/Oasis didn't sing it for years until last summer whereas Noel has performed it several times solo since the split.

Tbh I really don't like the Noel versions.
Even the one lauded by fans at Barrowlands.

It’s a ‘Liam’ tune. The studio version is still the best version of the song. My only small gripe is that I always felt it could’ve been brought up a key or two.

There's very few Noel songs that he makes his own tbh, excluding the obvious ones of course.
