I love Gem. I don’t care for Andy.

I love Gem. I don’t care for Andy. Gem over excites you. That’s why you blinked in your photo with him.

When Bonehead joined Liam for Supersonic last year March sounded and felt more Oasis than when I saw them playing the same song by Gem and Andy in 2009.

I remember when the stories broke in August 1999 of Bonehead’s departure. Extremely early internet and you weren’t sure on fan websites and forums who was lying or telling the truth. It all seemed so mental. Like what the fuck was going on?!?!? And then Guigs left shorty after. This was a bad bad sign that I just swept under the rug mentally at the time.

Combined with that weird/hastily called "It's hardly Paul McCartney leaving the Beatles" press conference Noel and Liam held at Water Rats in London about a week after Guigsy left (https://www.theguardian.com/uk/1999/aug/26/fiachragibbons1 for those who were not around back then). I remember watching that press conference thinking that this is insane. Every other band in the world would just release a press statement and get on with it. I don't remember Liam saying a word either (I'm sure he did, but don't remember).

Bonehead & Guigs ARE Oasis! I'd like to clarify my above statement a bit. Bonehead and Guigs are what Oasis meant to everyone. They are the spirit and fun. The embodiment of what it felt like to love this band. They were having a great time and didn't care about all the nonsense that swirled around them. While Noel and Liam were clearly the driving force behind the band... Bonehead and Guigs ARE/WERE the soul. If you didn't live it in the 90's then all of this probably sounds like nostalgic bull. Sorry, but you missed out on the magic. For everything that Andy and Gem may be (better musicians, song writers, etc.)... they never felt like a part of the band to me. They always felt like outsiders to some extent. Still do honestly. I got nothing against either one, but it's not the same with them.

The difference for me is that I always felt that Bonehead and Guigs make you believe that you could have been in Oasis (or that your band could have made it). Andy and Gem make you realize that you are not as good as you think you are .

But Andy and Gem gave us that feeling when we are talking about songwriting

Oasis had a sort of gang mentality and a spirit that went when Bonehead and Guigs left the band. Taking nothing away from Andy and Gem, they are good lads and good musicians.

Oasis is Liam and Noel.... so I prefer that they have the best backing band, i.e. Gem and Andy.

I like Gem and Andy and think they were great replacements for Guigs and Bonehead but you can't beat the originals.

Gem's cool. Bonehead is cooler.
Andy and Guigsy are basically non entities.

Bonehead for me was the only non Gallagher member I cared about, he shouldn't have left, the others were all ok, Guigsy, Tony, Andy, Gem... great guys, but Bonehead was like the third pillar, he really cared about the band, the band was his thing even before Liam joined, but the Gallaghers took over and the rest was history.

Bonehead and Guigsy.
Part of the original Burnage set so that gives them brownie points. A proper gang. But neither did they provide us with hilariously shit songs either.
