Saw this last night and it hit a sweet spot with me thought I’d share. Curious what A) You guys think of weezer and what side of the fence u side with and B) How applicable this is to many bands but especially Oasis? We know how classic those first two Oasis albums are. Anyway thought it was class. Enjoy

Nothing comes close to the classics, some of the later albums are good and some are not.
The White album is excellent by late Weezer standards.

I would be on Matt Damon's side if he didnt used the two or three worst Weezer albums as his argument.

That first album has some really good songs on it, and they found their own sound from the beginning, which makes them deserving of some credit. However, they're just one of those bands that really has no business to still be releasing albums almost 25 years later.

Loved the skit. Tend to agree with Leslie Jones. After Pinkerton, there’s only a small handful of decent Weezer songs. Anyone remember Matt Sharp’s post-Weezer band, The Rentals? I saw them open for Silverchair & The Red Hot Chili Peppers. That album was decent. Always get “Friends of P” stuck in my head.

Great breezy summer tunes. Nice melodies and harmonies that stuck for me. Also enjoyed Pacific Daydream so... Burn in Hell no offense of course

The only part of that skit that I found funny was Damon's exit. The rest was pretty cringey honestly.
All of this is hilarious to me, because Pinkerton was blasted upon release and was hated by critics, fans, and ultimately River's himself. It was only after years had passed and people could look back at it that the narrative changed surrounding it. That's why the band moved on from that sound and style with later releases. It's like the opposite of Be Here Now.
Personally... I've got no issue with their more recent output. Most of their albums are quite good. The notable exceptions being Ratitude and Hurley which leave most people scratching their heads for sure. What I've heard of the Black Album so far hasn't done anything for me, but we'll see I guess.

The guitars on Pinkerton sound immense.
