Include a ranking if you want.
I listened to 9 albums released in 2018. Frank Turner is easily the best. The top 4 albums here are solid, but the rest are fairly mediocre at best. Frank Turner's 2018 release is amongst his best material, though. So well in, Frank.
1. Frank Turner - Be More Kind 2. CHVRCHES - Love is Dead 3. The 1975 - A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships 4. The Wombats - Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life 5. Moose Blood - I Don't Think I Can Do This Anymore 6. The Struts - Young & Dangerous 7. Eminem - Kamikaze 8. Lily Allen - No Shame 9. The Arctic Monkeys - Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino

Haven't listened enough albums this year to make a proper top 10. From what I've listened, I enjoyed the most The Coral and Spiritualized albums.

My album of the year: Low - Double Negative
Strong, consistent albums: Kids See Ghosts - Kids See Ghosts Beach House - 7 Let's Eat Grandma - I'm All Ears
Not without flaws but still very enjoyable listens: Pusha T - DAYTONA Travis Scott - ASTROWORLD Robyn - Honey First Aid Kit - Ruins Arctic Monkeys - TBH&C Alexis Taylor - Beautiful Thing Kanye West - Ye
Somewhat underwhelming: Roosevelt - Young Romance Belle & Sebastian - How to Solve Our Human Problems (Parts 1-3) Manic Street Preachers - Resistance is Futile Blossoms - Cool Like You
Not including experimental and techno releases as they're difficult to rank in comparison to pop & rock.

Must admit I don’t know much about the albums released this year and that I’ve mostly been listening to instrumental albums released, primarily because I’m lazy and can’t multitask so ambient/electronic music is relaxing when working or reading (I struggle to concentrate on anything outside of music when vocals are involved!).
Erland Cooper - Solan Goose Jon Hopkins - Singulairty Nils Frahm - All Melody Ultraviolet - Kelly Moran Beach House - 7 Leon Bridges - Good Thing NIN - Bad Witch (a bit of some Blackstar influences going on here)

Always love this time of the year but it also reminds me of the growing shift in how we digest albums. It’s sad to say but I definitely listen to more single tracks than full albums because of the ease of Spotify and the fact that so many bands make lackluster full lengths. I realize I am now part of this problem where as 10-12 years ago I was a huge album nut head.
My initial thoughts is I love the following releases. Not ready to rank or go further with 6 weeks left in 2018.
Arctic Monkeys - Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks - Sparkle Hard Soccer Mommy - Clean Rolling Blackouts Costal Fever - Hope Downs Kids See Ghosts - Kids See Ghosts Thom Yorke - Suspiria Low - Double Negative Spiritualized - And Nothing Hurt Bill Ryder-Jones - Yawn
I’d probably come up with a better and bitching top songs list.

I was wondering what folk thought of the album Negro Swan by Blood Orange? Never thought it would be my bag - especially seeing P Diddy as a guest on one song - but I was surprised at how taken with it I was after hearing a couple of tunes on the radio. Hit and miss for me personally but got quite a lot of lovely melodies mixed in with your usual RnB tropes. Seems to mix quite a few genres so something for everyone. Lennon2217, The Escapist, andybellwillring, given you’re choices thought you guys might enjoy it?
