Embrace are touring this record to celebrate 20 years. I haven’t owned it in a while and it’s not on Spotify in the US. So I grabbed a copy on EBay. It is a good record. Damn good. The ballads are strong and the title track and Good Good People take me back to the 9sside note one of my favorite concerts was Embrace Braxton in 2000.

I really like that debut album, even some of the stuff that almost replicates Oasis - but even then, you’d say that All You Good Good People is one of the best songs Oasis never wrote. While I don’t think they ever made a great album, I’m a massive fan of the hugely underrated Drawn From Memory. The title track, The Love It Takes and I Had A Time are masterpieces.
I think it sometimes overdoes it on the orchestration which sounds like they are artificially trying to make songs bigger than they really are but there are proper gems on it. This one in particular is an understated beauty.
