This morning I listened to one of my favourite 3 track runs.
Vicar in a tutu There is a light that never goes out Some girls are bigger than others
The first song isnt really that special on it's own but followed by these other 2, it makes a fantastic closing run for what could be the best album by one of the best bands ever to walk this earth.

I was thinking about Pet Sounds but actually every combination possible is superb. When You Sleep - I Only Said - Come In Alone (My Bloody Valentine - Loveless) Agree on Pet Sounds. Everything on that is great. I really like: The Alan Parsons Project (Eye In The Sky): Sirius - Eye In The Sky - Children Of The Moon Pink Floyd (Dark Side Of The Moon): Breathe - On The Run - Time The Kinks (Something Else): David Watts to Harry Rag is a good 5 song run Toto (Toto): Child's Anthem - I'll Supply The Love - Georgy Porgy Toto (Hydra): Hydra - St. George And The Dragon - 99 Fleetwood Mac: Any combination on Rumours The Kinks: Any combination on The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society except one where one of the songs is The Last Of The Steam Powered Trains, I really hate that one. Led Zeppelin (Physical Graffiti): Kashmir - In The Light - Bron-Yr-Aur The Beatles (Rubber Soul): Girl - I'm Looking Through You - In My Life The Beatles (Revolver): Any combination

Talkin' Bout A Revolution - Fast Car - Across The Lines Tracy Chapman - self titled (1988)
This one's a little weird for me, because these three songs are the only ones of hers that I really like, and they just happen to be sequenced after one another as track 1-3 on her debut album. To be honest that might actually be the best opening to any album ever, even though there are countless artists and albums that I enjoy far more.

I Need You / Distant Sky / Skeleton Tree
Skeleton Tree - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
A fantastic but incredibly sad way to end an album.

The Jam: The Gift, tracks 1-3: 'Happy Together' / 'Ghosts' / 'Precious'
Just a shame the album kind of nosedives a bit after that (that is, until 'Carnation' followed by 'Town Called Malice', of course).

Heavy Soul – Part 1, Peacock Suit, Up In Suzes’ Room – Heavy Soul (Paul Weller) Agreed! Love the title track; I think it's one of Weller's most ragged recordings ever. Then you've got 'Peacock Suit', a great single which deservingly did well for him in the charts. And then 'Up in Suze's Room', which is surely one of his best solo songs. I can see why Heavy Soul often gets forgotten about, following the multi-platinum selling Stanley Road, but think that's slightly unfair. It deserves to be remembered from these opening tracks alone. And 'Science', of course. Perhaps the only three-song sequence that rivals the above tunes in his solo career is the one that opens Wild Wood, 'Sunflower' / 'Can You Heal Us (Holy Man)?' / 'Wild Wood'?
