CY - 8.5 NGHFB 8 WBTM 6.5
Chasing Yesterday is by far the best and most consistent album he has put out since the 90s. HFB has great songs but it's slightly too Dadrock. I like the idea of WBTM but I don't think the songs are quite up to standard (bar a few) and there's not enough material on there.

This is easier to do when writing it all out:
NGHFB Everybody's On The Run 9 Dream On 5 If I Had A Gun... 6 The Death Of You And Me 7 (I Wanna Live In A Dream In My) Record Machine 7 AKA... What A Life! 8 Soldier Boys And Jesus Freaks 6 AKA... Broken Arrow 7 (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach 8 Stop The Clocks 7 Average: 7/10
Chasing Yesterday Riverman 8 In The Heat Of The Moment 8 The Girl With X-Ray Eyes 6 Lock All The Doors 8 The Dying Of The Light 9 The Right Stuff 9 While The Song Remains The Same 10 The Mexican 6 You Know We Can't Go Back 9 Ballad Of The Mighty I 8 Average: 8.1/10
Who Built The Moon? Fort Knox 6 Holy Mountain 8 Keep On Reaching 7 It's A Beautiful World 7 She Taught Me How To Fly 10 Be Careful What You Wish For 5 Black & White Sunshine 5 If Love Is The Law 5 The Man Who Built The Moon 8 Average: 6.7/10
Voted CY, has the most upper-tier songs in terms of quality, but with a special mention to She Taught Me How To Fly, absolute belter of a tune and probably my favourite of all of his main album tracks.
Also had it been included, Alone On The Rope would have scored 10, and Simple Game Of Genius would have got a 9

The first two are so tame in comparison. Three years later, Who Built The Moon still endures in a way the first two tepid albums cannot.

Who Built the Moon, for me.
- Fort Knox - Holy Mountain - She Taught Me How to Fly - The Man Who Built the Moon - Dead in the Water
There's just a power and energy to these songs, as well as gems like Beautiful World and If Love is the Law, that is much more compelling than most of his first two. They feel passionate, melodic, inspired. Second would be the debut, which has some gorgeous songs also. Broken Arrow remains one of the best solo-Gallagher tunes.

There's not a lot between them for me. They're all quite consistent and show Noel in decent songwriting form however he hasn't quite matched the highest highs of the decade before for me (Go Let It Out, Gas Panic!, The Hindu Times [Demo], The Importance of Being Idle, The Shock of the Lightning, Falling Down). The only song I think definitely breaks that 8/10 barrier (which he commendably regularly achieves these days) is The Ballad of the Mighty I. I've highlighted the other tracks in bold I consider the best material.
