Having seen Moulin Rouge and Mamma Mia recently, both of those movies got me thinking what a musical composed solely of Oasis songs would sound like. So let's pretend that you're trying to pitch the idea of an Oasis musical to some film executives. What would the plot be? Which songs would you choose to feature? Let's get creative with this, folks! Maybe this can become a reality in 10 year's time!

Maybe I'm alone here but a movie about a ragtag bunch of hardcore fans from all over the world brought together by their common enduring love for their favourite band might be worth watching. Especially if it's about this forum.
Netflix will eventually run out of original ideas and this will be groundbreaking stuff.

Being the resident musical theater nerd... I have a script laying around somewhere done in this manner. If I recall, it was written with the idea being to choose the songs that best fit the moment (mood/tone) in the show, not to simply cram in all the hits as it were. So it has a fair amount of non-single album tracks and b-sides in it. Also, the only use of Wonderwall (as I remember it) is as background instrument music in restaurant or something.
(For the record, I'm not a fan of Moulin Rouge... Mamma Mia is alright.)

I actually dug around until I found that script. If anyone is actually interested in reading it, shoot me a PM with an email address, and I'll email it to you.

DIGSY'S DINNER (AN OASIS MUSICAL)
Act 1. Digsy finds the perfect recipe for lasagna, and starts to have it several times a day for over a year.
Act 2. Some might say that it's not good for him, but he doesn't care. He loses friends because of this, but he's having the time of his life and he won't stop.
Act 3. When he finds the recipe for a Magic Pie he realises he's found an even better drug, but if he only knew what he was getting himself into. He gets seriously addicted to it, and eventuelly he needs something even stronger to reach satisfaction. Next stop: Heroin.
Act 4. He loses everything, and the inevitable existential crisis kicks in. He's half the world away from everything that once made him happy.
Act 5. But does the nightmare end there? No, panic is on the way. Waking up one night from terrible withdrawals, he goes around to the houses of his old friends, tapping on their windows. Most of them shut the door on him, but one of them decides to give him a new chance.
Act 6. The message is simple: "Stop crying your heart out". He takes these words to heart, and eventually it all starts feeling better again.
Act 7. After a while Digsy realises that he's fallen in love with this particular friend, who's name happens to be Lyla. They have kids and everything's amazing.
Act 8. One morning he wakes up feeling like he's been hit by lightning. He truly feels shocked when he realises it's not just some metaphor for love but an actual lightning, and he dies immediately.
THE END.

It could work, there was that film Sunshine On Leith based on the songs of The Proclaimers. Sounds like a terrible idea, but the film was actually not bad at all.
So if it could work for The Proclaimers music, then it can definitely work for Oasis.

This summer, Adrian Brody IS The Escapist , a charismatic but mysterious writer searching for both the answers to life and a way to mix the two separate versions of D'You Know What I Mean? in a satisfactory manner.

Well even former Oasis support act The Enemy have got a musical based off songs from their debut 'We'll Live and Die in These Towns', so it's a definite possibility if someone wanted to do it I suppose! As to the question of a plot for some reason I'm thinking of a parallel universe type thing where a middle class English boy goes to conquer America (lead played by Beady’s Here Now obviously ) and has his highs and lows follow the trajectory of Oasis career soundtracked by the music. Meanwhile UGHF plays the alternative life out by ditching the privileged life to embark on a journey of love, music and self-discovery around the UK armed with an acoustic guitar and a backpack, where he discovers himself and...... Wow, I do talk shite when I'm tired!

I once written an Oasis musical called Let There Be Love, must see if I can find it. It had several songs and was based around two life long friends when a girl (a literal fallen Angel in my mind) come between them.
