Thread is self-explanatory: What is the greatest Oasis song that never was?
Has to be Record Machine, surely? I was on top of the world when that leaked in May 2008. Brilliant.

Definitely Come on Outside.
We have the demo but a version with Liam's vocals over top of that instrumentation in a lossless format as the opener to an album would've been massive.

The Hindu Times demo version with Liam on vox. Maybe not a number 1 single but still fucking powerful.

Record Machine with Liam on vocals ending DOYS, great song to end the last album of the band.
They could've ended with:
You can't give me a reason I don't need one to shine You can't give me a feeling 'cause it's already mine You've got one in a million And if the sun won't rise on my soul Then I'll go
Instead of:
La la la [x4]
Soldier on [x12]
And it could've been a big single.

Record Machine and Stop the Clocks could have been huge if done right with Liam on vocals.

Record Machine and Stop The Clocks aren’t great but they would have been a hell of a lot better on Dig Out Your Soul than wretched tunes like Nature of Reality and Ain’t Got Nothin (throw in the pseudo-philosophical tripe that is To Be Where There’s Life too). Soldier On deserved it’s place but would work more as an epilogue to an epic tune preceding it as opposed to following on from the crap second half.
As a point of interest, does a 10 minute version of Record Machine actually exist or was that Noel talking bollocks again?

(You've Got) The Heart of a Star
*If it was released as a Xmas single it would have been amazing.*

(You've Got) The Heart of a Star *If it was released as a Xmas single it would have been amazing.* Possibly my favourite mk2 era b-side. Stunning tune. It feels like a lost Oasis 90s classic. It's one of very few mk2 era songs that has the 90s era magic for me. It should be dusted off from time to time at Noel gigs close to Christmas.

I do think that Soldier On needed to be on there in some capacity, given its apocalyptic nature but only as a coda to the album or before Boy With the Blues since the outro to Soldier On segues nicely into the intro to Boy With the Blues, and I think Record Machine needed to be on DOYS with Wrong Beach on DBTT. Otherwise, I like it. (Also congrats on getting your albums on Spotify! I saw them on there when I was browsing around the other day.)
